Cute little graphical novell in the TRON Universe with a few and very easy Disc Puzzles. Took me around 2,5 hours for the main run incl. reading texts and being inside the story. Finishing the other achievements took around 20 minutes in a few turbo pushes.
Story is quite okay. Nothing extraordinary, but not bad either. The scenes are nice designed inside the tron universe, but could have more depth into it, like unblurred background city.
*edit - And the soundtrack could be a bit more bassheavy, like in Tron Legacy by Daft Punk. The soundtrack was quite weak*
In my opinion not worth the 15 bucks, but if you grab it in a sale for 5-6 bucks it's a good catch.

As a fan of the Tron universe (especially Tron: Legacy and the sadly short lived Tron: Uprising) and visual novels that are NOT dating sims, this seemed like a good fit for me. Identity's biggest strengths are its atmosphere and art design. The story honestly wasn't super compelling, though, and story should be the strongest aspect of a visual novel. The details around the "big reveal" near the end seemed a bit fuzzy to me, too.
Even though the player character is a detective, you do very little 'detecting' besides talking to the characters. I think the game would be stronger if you actually had to locate clues and piece together information. Besides conversations, there's a puzzle mini game sprinkled throughout, which is fine, but it doesn't really feel like it adds much of anything to the experience. The game does have a limited amount of branching paths depending on the choices you make, so I might do another playthrough eventually to see some alternate routes.
Overall, I would only recommend this to someone who already has a strong interest in Tron, but even that may not be enough to keep you engaged. I'd give this a more neutral rating if that were possible.

Tron Identity is a fun small studio take on a story within the Tron universe that sits outside what has been explored in the movies so far though does make some general references. The gameplay loop is fairly simple, following a puzzle model at set intervals which plays out similarly each time with minor variations to keep track of, but the main draw of this game is the narrative beats hit following through choices that you'll make to guide the story along.
Visually it captures the vibe of the world its set in using a comic book/visual novel style and the music has a good ambience to it which lines up well with the areas you visit and the universe it's set in.
It's a short game which doesn't overstay its welcome, took me 6 hours to do but the average is probably 3-4 hours; if you're a fan of Bithell Games' previous work and/or the Tron universe then I believe you'll find enjoyment playing through this hence my recommendation!

It is an interesting visual novel, but if you are looking for a Tron game, Tron Catalyst (also from this studio) is a much better game
