Crysis 2 Remastered brings back one of the most underrated FPS campaigns of its time, delivering tight gunplay, stunning visuals, and a cinematic sci-fi story that still holds up a decade later. While it shifts away from the open-ended sandbox of the first Crysis, it makes up for it with refined combat, better pacing, and a more immersive setting.
The Nanosuit 2.0 is the star of the show, making you feel like a one-man army. The streamlined suit abilities—Cloak, Armor, and Power—offer tactical flexibility without the clunkiness of the original game’s controls. Whether you want to stealth through encounters, tank damage and go full assault, or use the environment to outmaneuver enemies, the game gives you plenty of ways to approach combat. The gunplay is crisp and satisfying, and the addition of customizable weapon attachments adds even more depth.
New York City is a fantastic setting. The urban battlegrounds, crumbling skyscrapers, and alien-infested streets give the game a unique and immersive atmosphere. The semi-open level design allows for creative combat approaches, striking a great balance between linear storytelling and player freedom. The enemy AI, both human CELL operatives and the alien Ceph, offer a good challenge, forcing you to adapt your tactics constantly.
Visually, Crysis 2 Remastered looks fantastic. The lighting, reflections, and improved textures breathe new life into the game, making it one of the best-looking remasters of recent years. The soundtrack, composed by Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe, adds an epic cinematic feel to the experience.
While it lacks the open-ended sandbox of the first Crysis, Crysis 2 makes up for it with better pacing, refined gameplay, and a stronger narrative. If you’re looking for a sci-fi FPS with tactical combat and a gripping atmosphere, Crysis 2 Remastered is absolutely worth playing.
Rating: 9/10 – A visually stunning, action-packed FPS that still delivers a power fantasy like no other.

It was a fun game at first, but the ai is ok and it feels a bit repetitive after awhile. New York didn't feel as pretty as the islands in the first game. I played through on the hardest difficulty and didn't hit many challenges. Stealth is actually hilariously broken in this. The highest stealth upgrade (I realized this about 3/4 through the game) gives you enough stealth to walk from checkpoint to checkpoint without having to deal with enemies. The last parts of the game I made into a walking simulator. I actually liked the first one more interestingly.

Nice atmosphere and immersive shooter experience.
Bad guys are a little generic but that's a minor caveat.

Its an older Fps game. But honestly its one of the better fps games even on the steam deck it works pretty decent. I suggest you play the first crysis game prior to this one for the story line.

✅ Great visual improvements with ray tracing and 4K textures
✅ Nanosuit abilities offer satisfying tactical gameplay
✅ More structured story with strong cinematic moments
✅ Smooth performance and better optimization than the first remaster
✅ Improved AI makes combat feel dynamic and intense
❌ More linear than Crysis 1 (less sandbox freedom)
❌ Some aspects of the story feel cliché
❌ No multiplayer mode (only single-player available)
Crysis 2 Remastered is a fantastic upgrade to an already great game. The Nanosuit mechanics, stunning graphics, and intense urban combat make it a must-play for sci-fi FPS fans. While less open-ended than Crysis 1, the cinematic storytelling and improved AI keep the action engaging. If you love fast-paced, tactical shooters, this is worth revisiting.

Definitely an improvement over Crysis 1. I preffer the linear approach taken by the devs.
Somewhat troubling to 100%.
Soundtrack is great, you can definitely tell you're listening to Hans Zimmer working his magic.
Storyline is very enjoyable.
Graphics are great.

Sensacional!

Crashes often. Right now it keeps crashing whenever I try to engage enemies very close to the end of the game...
I can't make out much differences between this release and my memories of the original release. Except for maybe that the lighting has less contrast. Meh. No point buying this over the original version.

Graphics have not aged (especially in contrast to Crysis 1, replayed in 2025) and storyline and gameplay are still top notch.
