A vampire survivors game that is actually a full on bullet hell with an intriguing story and completely unique graphics? Why did I not pick this up sooner?

This game is a trip. Psychedelic psychological horror story, with very flavorful storytelling. The game itself is decent, and has a bit of mystery to it. You'll see what I mean when you look at the upgrades. You're encouraged to experiment, and see what things do without being told what they do. Adds to the psychological thrill, in my humble opinion. But it plays like any survivor-type game you might have played, like Brotato or Vampire Survivors, etc. Highly recommend if the above is intriguing to you. It just got a massive update. I'm hooked just by the atmosphere and storytelling. The last story bit I played left me feeling haunted. I need to see how it ends.

Spoilers for the new content in the Contamination content update (as well as the full game's narrative in general :p): I can't fully express how well this game works with its concepts and its narrative. To give a bit of setup, I managed to take a run all the way to the final boss's Endless variant. The boss was extremely hard, yet I managed to scrape through thanks to a busload of extra health. Her dialogue after the fight said that she would continue hunting Cyl, again and again, as long as it would take to kill her permanently. Even if it meant hunting her forever. Then, she died, and the game progressed as usual, continuing further into Endless mode. I started getting more and more exhausted as time went on. I hadn't had dinner yet, and I was so powerful that I was scrolling through YouTube on the other tab and waiting for the bosses to spawn so I could kill them and move on. After a certain point, I decided to just end the run manually, since it didn't seem like anything else was going to. Then the game hit me with the ending cutscene. After all of that struggle, becoming so powerful that the enemies couldn't even appear on-screen, Cyl's final fate is to forever search for a final confrontation with Picayune that will never come. She is condemned by the Aberration to continue wandering the galaxy forever, endlessly paranoid about the ancient evil that only she remembers, until she is either caught off-guard and killed (which will never happen), or until she decides to end her own life (which she will never do). That's REALLY dark. So yeah, the game is as phenomenal as ever. Highly recommend. I'm going to go lie in bed and watch cat videos now. I need some comfort after that.

A really solid bullet hell game with a sick breakcore ost by Milkypossum. Its story and characters are charming and spooky and I have grown quite fond of them! I personally rate this game a solid 7/10 its a good time, 100% completion of the game can be hit or miss cause of some rng elements to completing certain achievements, but give it time and you'll manage!

just got 100% on the game and wanna give my thoughts: genuinely one of the top 10 games i've ever played, amazing amount of fun. the story and lore was really cool to uncover, and getting the secret ending was pretty satisfying. the graphics style is really cool with andyland's style in the enemies and statues and stuff, very unique. learning all the different systems in the game was cool, seeing all the knowledge I had from stuff come together as my runs went on was a great feeling. and the MUSIC!!! holy crapamoly, the OST by milkypossum not only fits the game perfectly, but went onto my playlists almost instantly - super awesome. all in all, for how much stuff is in this game, the experience it gave me, and the price I paid (super low by the way, getting such a game for this price is absolutely a steal), I 110% recommend this game to anyone interested in really kewl games. :3

A survivor game dripping with style and much more bullet hell mechanics. Fun secrets and progression, interesting world building, amazing artistic direction and a banger soundtrack. Bosses are really fun to learn. Builds are fun and varied and the huge free expansion that dropped adds so much more replay-ability. One of the best indie sleeper hits I've played in recent years, it feels like stealing how low they charge for this masterpiece.

Been waiting for the update to actually make a review, this game is SO much fun, even with as little time I have in the game compared to others I find it a great game to get onto for an hour long run on overdrive. The new content is really welcome and adds to the experience ten fold, very worth the purchase.

Absolutely great. Worth far more than the price. Very good story told through interesting means and super unique designs are complimented with a solid - albeit somewhat easy once you get used to it - gameplay loop.

what if the government had direct control over your bodily functions and physically wouldn't let you stay dead until you worked overtime with no extra pay and then you get laid off once you're done for the day?
