The holes in the floor really excel the fun this genre has to offer.

It's a fairly solid and enjoyable survivors game, especially good for its low price range. I consider it easily worth the three dollars for the time you could put into it especially since it is still in its infancy and has more planned, the character abilities and weapons quite diverse. The soundtrack is also easy to listen to and enjoy, and the simpler artstyle easy on the eyes.
The devs are also fairly active and listen to input, so feel free to give them a shout

You can't see what upgrades you have at the moment.
Visual clarity is horrible, all the enemies, their attacks, your attacks, your abilities, your summons and other objects you create - they all have the same brightness, opacity. The option of "visual clarity" that is supposed to help does nothing.
Lots of stuff doesn't work. Like upgrades, passives.
No indication of anything. You can gather "metal fragments" that boosts your attack, but how much do you have? Who knows. You can use those metal fragments if you pick up other upgrades (nice, I'm gathering stuff to boost my attack but I'm constantly spending it), but since you don't know how many fragments you have, it's impossible to know if you'll be able to use your abilities.
There are a lot of upgrades to "build" stuff (like turrents, lightning rods etc). But every few minutes you are transferred to another level, and those buildings don't follow you, so you actually waste a lot of upgrades and start very week every level if you choose to specialize in the building side.
There are tons of upgrades, but most of them feel INHUMANELY weak. Like, +0.3 to the size of your weapon swing. Even when I tried, I couldn't spot the difference. What about +0.5% attack speed? Or "every 40 seconds summon a thing that attacks once and leave".
Enemies are constantly killed off-screen by random projectiles and abilities. They drop exp there. Pickup range is abysmal, so it constantly feels irritating to go and gather all this exp. Especially if you have a build "don't move to be stronger".
There no synergies in upgrades, too. In other games (at least, good ones) you have stuff like "attacks burn enemies" + "every time you burn an enemy, you heal" + "every time you heal, you launch projectiles". There is no such thing here, so you just stack random upgrades.
Among the upgrades, you can encounter some that allow you to convert one upgrades into another. But since there is no description of anything, you are just converting "pink lipstick" into "pile of tea bags" - go figure. The description is also non-existent for a lot of stuff. "Sometime you enter a Zen state, Sometime you enter Dick state" - that's the description of an upgrades. Yay.
I can keep going. And all this is just from several games. I can't imaging what else is there.
Looks like all the positive reviews are from the dev's team, friends, family, or outright bought out.

Overall very solid survivor like game with a very fun and unique theme going for it. The gameplay has a level of both skill and luck reliance to succeed, but also gives you enough resources to work around them both. With the full release Sue Shi Survival has definitely addressed some of the shortcomings it had in the past during EA.
Each character is unique in how they play, and each weapon you can utilize their own strengths though some are still imo better than others. If you come into this from say Vampire Survivors, SSS WILL beat you down as the early runs are a bit brutal until you get persistent upgrades. But once you start getting the hang of the mechanics and have a good build going the rush of power is so great.
While I would have still recommended before during EA when some aspects were still rocky, messing around finally with the full release further cements my recommendation. You just need to have some patience going in. Sincerely hope this game can get more attention as it's absolutely an overlooked gem atm.
4/29/24: Still imo an overlooked gem of the genre; sincerely hpoe somehow this gets a surge of awareness. And I hope it not taking off doesn't discourage the devs from future endeavors.

It starts off promising enough, but having played the full release, I just don't know why you would play this over almost any other competent release in the new genre.
The graphics are neat, and there are a lot of interesting things presented - talents on level up that unlock a new set of talents, choosing your starting basic weapon, the watering thing is neat and the building stuff seems interesting. The problem is, you don't get to interact with it at all. You choose from 4 options on level up, and that includes "potions" which are basically temporary buffs. The pool of talents is MASSIVE, and not weighted (as far as I can see). You get 2 rerolls per floor, which amounts to about 8 rerolls per run, which is basically useless for actually trying to do "a build". If you choose one of those "class" talents that unlock more options (mechanic, ki, etc.) it gets even worse.
Basically all the choices are worthless because, like all these genre of games, you need synergy and multiplicative power to survive, which means just take the most basic, passive stat upgrades, and the basic fish summon skills, and do the same thing every run because everything else requires a staggering amount of luck in your favor to see work.
You can experiment on the lowest tier difficulty a bit but even then you'll often just run into not killing stuff fast enough which means less xp which means less leveling which means killing stuff slower which means spending 5 minutes after the end of the level timer dodging endlessly while you whittle away the hp of the boss (or you could go onward and forsake even more xp). Oh also you obviously get WAY less rewards at the basic tier. Also unlocking higher tiers requires beating the previous tier, which means doing incrementally less forgiving runs over and over using the same builds over and over because anything else could mean wasting 15-20 minutes of your time and not knowing it until the choices keep failing to happen.
There is a fun game hidden here behind the insane lack of meaningful choices presented to the player. If the level up options were like, 8 choices instead of 4, it would STILL be more RNG than most of these games, but it might be more friendly to try out other builds. There's just no reason to recommend this because it's closer to playing a tedious slot machine than a bullet heaven.

So far really enjoying this game. There's already a large variety of weapons, characters and upgrades so repeat runs stay fresh and interesting. "Blitz" mode is nice for quick runs, easy to lose track of time and spend hours playing "just one more run". I recommend turning on the visibility setting to help when things start to get busy but otherwise has been great and easy to get into. Looking forward to seeing more characters and updates!

Since original review I've played another 23 hours. Lots of different ways to play depending on hero chosen and upgrades provided. The progression system allows making the levels much harder to get more rewards and speed up unlocks.
I do with the developer would make sound effects more unique, I'm still not able to make out which sound is dodge ready and damage/minute buff noise.
Game is much more deep than the screen shots give it credit for, a ton of customization and each run has felt unique. Having a lot of fun with it so far.

A big improvement on the Vampire Survivors formula. Choosing your "main" weapon beforehand skips the annoying part of VS where you simply build the build that turns the game into an idle killscreen slideshow with item locks & skips (which while admittedly fun, does get old after a while) into a much more *active* and involved game. People who like that are still well served here as well, as the "infinite" mode will easily have you clearing out entire screens with massive amounts of abilities (no equip caps!)
Characters are also a lot more varied and different then VS's as well, as they're more then a side buff and starting loadout and cover a bunch of playstyles. There's also stacking challenges, Blitz mode for a faster run, and more things to be added in the future.
This is a pretty good game, and at its price point it is very strong deal.
