Only 5% of people have completed the tutorial. Its not just because the tutorial is awful and poorly made. Its also because the controls are awful and aged poorly. I really wanted to like this game for the art style and music hold up great and are oozing with creativity. But the feel of the game is so bad I couldn't keep playing.

If this is ever available again, PICK IT UP. Absolutely worth your time for the art style and funky beats. Controls have quite the learning curve, but you'll get it eventually.

Can't wait for the new revamp version to be released soon. Played JSRF as a kid and replayed the 1st version at steam.

Culturally and aesthetically, it's a very interesting game. Reminds me of 90s UK (though this isn't the inspiration) with their own pirate radios and a soundtrack comprised of all the kinds of music popular at that time. Breaks, big beat, funk, acid jazz, Chicago house, hip-hop, turntablism and all of that. Just bleeds style and inspiration, rollerblades, breakdancing, graffiti, everything youth counterculture from 80s-90s. It's a vibe that's, kind of, unfortunately, missing from its spiritual successor, in my opinion. A lot of people seem to think the music is only an amalgam of cool electronic beats + funk at times, rather than a culture.
Buut it's really clunky and occasionally very tedious to play. I imagine it's more of a cult classic for how much it appealed to the folk who grew up through that stuff, and it's really, really cool (and worth playing) for that. If that's not your thing, or if you don't have an interest in any of that like I do, I wouldn't recommend it. It's fairly overrated since the audience is niche and underrepresented. Not bad, though. More of a love letter/art-piece than a game, admittedly important for catalyzing the way I categorize music. The cop guy also reminds me of the dude from Lupin III.
Sadly delisted.
