Finnaly a home port of this game. A toaplan failoed attempt but still Interesting and fun game that unfortunaly gets overshadowed by the superior prequel outzone. Toaplan made a sequel to outzone but with worst presentation and gameplay in a much superior hardware altough is still good. You don´t have a life bar constantly draining to pressure you, the level design is weaker. The boss fighs are interesting and some of them are a improvment compared to outzone. The only thing better is that you have different player ships with differences in the gameplay. You have 2 kinds of levels, one similiar to outzone abnd one that you control a bike and plays like a normal shmup. My biggest problem with the game is that enemyes are a sponge and take a lot of hits to die. Therefore the game is very hard but not for the best reasons. Still it is a interesting game and is the closest and probably the unique game that you can find similiar to the .masterpiece that is outzone.
The bitwave port is amazing as always, everything is perfect with exception of sound emulation (that is still good) and a tons of assist options that are great (change size of hitbox, autofire,etc...) . Higlhy Recomended.

Not very good, and you can forget about using the side stats if you're using 3P mode. Not that they, or the other extra features, or the general emulation are well-programmed otherwise. I wonder sometimes if all along, Tatsujin and Bitwave parent company Embracer Group has been up to no good again.

So far im enjoying it allot. its both easier and harder than shock troopers, but just as good. big variety of characters to play that all have their own weapons makes a lot of replayability

FixEight is an awesome sequel to Outzone! Much recommended!
Watch out for the chosen region. The JP region version is ridiculously hard with 2x HP and around 2x enemy bullet speed compared to the US region version! The US version is recommended for comfortable playthrough.

Please ignore that MusicalMinerDude clown who, for some bizarre reason, decided to purchase every Toaplan arcade port on Steam just so he could whine that they aren't good, followed by a bunch of woefully inaccurate and ridiculous complaints. These ports are great, and this game is great.
There are literally articles holding up the Toaplan Shoot 'Em Up ports as the perfect example of how to do PC ports the right way, and this guy is claiming that all of them are terrible...lol.

So many coins spent on this back in the 90s.
Ill admit it, have played it only once in steam. bought it for pure nostalgia sake and dont regret it.
It runs very well, plays nicely with a controller and what else can one ask for from such a small arcade?
