So far IoA is a fun game. Great graphics and I like how there are hud markers to follow for mission objectives. The controls and features look a bit complicated, but nothing unmanageable.

Fun game.
+ I liked the magic based shooting.
+ I thought the story was quite good with some fun twists and turn.
+ Visuals are great.
+ I really liked the different magic trinkets you can (and need to) use.
- Could have used some more optimisations. Its lags quite often.
- I hated those jumping puzzles. The other puzzles were cool.
All in all i had a good time with the game.

Immortals of Aveum is an okay game overall.
Visually, it has its moments, though there are occasional graphic spikes that can pull you out of the experience.
The story isn’t particularly gripping or memorable, but where the game really shines is in its fast-paced gameplay and well-crafted puzzles.
Combat feels smooth and satisfying, and the magical mechanics offer a refreshing twist on the typical FPS formula.
If you're in it for fun gameplay over deep narrative, just buy it during a sale.

I really want to love this game. It has humor, good combat mechanics, really interesting story, good universe around it and great characters. But the optimization is just rubbish. i mean, if I have to tweak every tiny bit of my computer or settings in the game to have a somewhat good experience, I just cannot. And when I thought I finally found something stable, new huge lags came in transition videos. So sorry, yes, I love my time playing the game while it worked, but I cannot force myself to play 11 more hours just to finish the story.

The game has decent reviews overall, but for some reason I feel like I remember some drama or something around its release. Anyway... that is what made me not rush to the game. But this game is great! It's not like... super deep, but it's fun, it's a bit funny... and the game play experience is top notch.
Runs great.
Looks great.
Sounds great.
Sensible controls and interaction scheme.
I really have no complaints. This is a great game.

the combat is the best part, i also did enjoy the platforming and puzzles, the story is ok. I would recommend this only on sale. I had fun, it doesn't really take itself all that seriously. And if you like Kirkbride's worldbuilding, I think you'll enjoy the worldbuilding here.

Yet another unoptimized UE5 disaster. Gameplay is fun but technically terrible.

Visually stunning game, but it made me realize that I now really want a magical shooter which is actually good. I played a single 8.5 hour session, making my way through the story, and the next day I had no desire to pick it up again, nor any days following that.
Immortals of Aveum had potential to start its whole own genre/universe, but the execution was lacking. The gameplay is deep as a puddle and I still do not care what the story is about whatsoever. Just underwhelming on all fronts.

Good graphics, interesting story lane a lot of puzzles, secrets and places to come back with a new ability or spell later. Creative levels, various enemies, amazing magic fighting system. I liked this game very much.

Out of the three magic shooters I've played (Ghostwire: Tokyo, Hogwarts Legacy and this) this game had imo by far the best/most fun combat. The writing of this is pretty weak though, it has very MCU-ish dialoge, for example at one point a character literally says "He's right behind me, isn't he?". However, it's nowhere near Forspoken levels of cringe. If you get it on sale, when it only costs 8.99$/€, then it's worth every penny.
I'd give this game a solid 8.2/10
