Hazelight just keeps. on. delivering. Split Fiction is easily the best co-op game I’ve ever played, beating out their own It Takes Two for the top spot. Apparently, the only competition they face is themselves because no one else is even getting close in this category tbh.
My initial reservation was the $50 price tag, but ultimately, I decided to go ahead pull the trigger at full price and put my trust in a developer who has already delivered a great experience in the past. After playing, this is a decision I'm glad I made. It's definitely worth the money imo, but if you ever catch it on sale, it's an absolute STEAL at that point! The game is awesome and runs like a dream. I've already had more fun and laughs in the first 2 hours than any other full game has given me in years.
If you want the true experience, I think this game is best played with a co-op partner who you really enjoy spending time with and being silly around, rather than just some random stranger, but it will be fun either way. It's not a competitive game that you should ever take seriously or sweat at. Just give yourself to the experience, get immersed and have fun. The visuals are fantastic, weaving a fine line between gorgeous and goofy. The controls are simple, even for an ultra-casual gamer. There is a non-stop flow of variety and creativity. Tons of mini-games and side activities. Very clever level design. It has an interesting and unique story that's well acted and voiced. Plenty of memories to be made here. This is co-op done right!
If you're on the fence like I was, I absolutely recommend just going for it. Supposedly, the game has around 12-14 hours of content and I'm already blown away by the first 2. From what I understand, it only gets better and better as you play. This is certainly a contender for GOTY 2025 and a must-play for people who enjoy expertly-crafted fun, casual, co-op games!

Hazelight Studio is rly good dev, i like 3/3 of their games, but i still hate EA.
good thing in this game is we don't need EA launcher to play.
overall this game is good and it's better to play with 2 people.
the only cons i found is i got a bit motion sickness at last boss fight

Amazing game, lots of variation, ideas and different game mechanics to experience. Hazelight really create the best coop experiences currently out there. If you enjoyed It Takes 2, you will also love this. Looks great, sounds great, plays great, grab a friend and see for yourself!
(also shoutout to the friends pass offer, where only one person needs to buy the game in order for you both to be able to play together. Not everyone has a buddy to play, and you also can't expect your friends to be willing to pay money to play a game with you. Here, the entry point is very accessible, if it's worth the money for one of you, or both of you split up the pricetag, you can play for quite a low price considering the amazing quality of the game.)

Rather in between good and bad. It has it's qualities, but the gameplay was really shallow. There was a ton of effort put into the presentation, animation and performance, but the levels were really bland to play. Almost every time you get a good gameplay gimmick, it is over pretty quickly without exploring the possibilities, without pushing it. The general levels are also so incredibly long, that they had to sprinkle in some side-levels inside the main-levels for some variety. Also, the characters were pretty surface-level deep, and the story was very unoriginal, you probably experienced this story in multiple movies/books/shows. Despite that, it is not a bad game. Again, it has good qualities and production value, especially at the end.
15 hours of playtime for 50 bucks is rough and as it stands, I will probably never play this again. The rather boring gameplay will not have me coming back.
Also as a side note: know beforehand with who you will play the game, as it is coop-only. And your experience WILL vary depending on your partner. I was lucky and had a good experience regarding that, but there will be people who will have a bad time just because of the other person.

The best cooperative game since Army of Two (and even better). It's a blast, and you only need one copy for two players. The sheer number of mechanics is mind-blowing. For me, it's a GotY!

Common Hazelight W. 10/10 co-op experience. Each level is incredibly unique and the use of tropes from both the sci-fi and fantasy genres is very well done. The gameplay is so smooth that at times you and your friend are doing such incredibly fast, intricate manoeuvres in tandem and in sync with each other that you're almost surprised you're pulling it off. As was the case with every game from this studio there really isn't a single second you're not having fun.
PS: Need a sequel of this with a horror writer and like a children's book writer so that half the levels are dark and terrifying and the other half are bright and silly.

A very good cooperative game.
What makes it great is the way they manage once again to change gameplay and style overall every level while still keeping you on the story.
The game itself was interesting to play and not too hard, which makes it accessible to any friends or couples that would like to try it for a good co-op experience.
The achievements were nice, made you go back to some levels and do things that you didn't try first, it could be just a small detail in the corner of a map that lead you to some passive story-telling about something random, but this is what the game is about, it's about the experience, looking around to appreciate the incredible level-design with a friend or a loved one.
People may think that the game is too expensive for the time that you actually play it. Even I, finished the game in 17 hours. But remember that you also pay for the experience, and in this game, that's the most important, I promise you, it is worth it.

Mid as fuck. Got too boring near the end. The writing is too cliche and lazy in most of the game. Play It Takes Two instead.

I really enjoyed the journey trough this game.
If u like SciFiction/Cyberpunk - play this game.
If u like fantasy - play this game.
If u like lil riddle's - play this game.
If u have a friend/lover/smth else u like to play with - play this game.
I didn't think the developers could top the previous games (it takes two/a way out), but for ME, they did.
Like. This game was soooooo good, i wasnt bored for a single second, it brings so much fun.
I also really liked all the easter eggs and secret things u can find (or we found, we missed some shit, but we will catch up), like the Dark Souls bonfire, really cool!
The graphics/The world was also very stunning, like, i made many screenshots. My Fantasy/Scifiction heart melted. (also my nerdy book heart melted)
So yeah, this coop masterpiece is 100% recommended by me, play it! :)
Ps: F*ck this Laser Hell secret level
