Fast paced, funny story, good gameplay, easy to pick up and let's not forget the awesome 8bit music.

The game has good level design and a decent story and very good visuals for an indie game and is quite hard if it is your first time playing but it is quite short but it is cheap.

very fun retro game, only rage quit a few times.
at first look it might not seem like anything special other then the art. but the movement mechanic very much changes how you play the game and how you look at the plat-former.
and for only 5 bucks its well worth the money for the enjoyment you will have, even if you scream at your pc a bunch along the way

Really smooth gameplay and solid mechanics. The water bits were a bit hard to get used to but overall a solid experience!
Edit: I have 2+ hours of gameplay, it wasn't tracked because I was launching the game directly through windows explorer. oops!

fuck yeah!! this lovely game is an absolute delight
im in awe that most of the assets are made by alfie himself :0
im a huge fan of games with multi-functional mechanics, and this is no exception!!
controls are so incredibly juicy, leading to instant immersion
boss fights prove to be a spectacular display of growth, and give quite a challenge
story is minimal, but ties gameplay and all the beautiful worlds neatly together
alfie (spacespy) is an absolute genius, and i cant articulate well enough how fucking proud i am
what an accomplishment <3
tl:dr
5/5, would bang

The game is good example of quality over quantity. In terms of what you get, its an hour long game (I spent an extra hour beating boss rush) with no unlockables, extra modes, secrets or anything like that. You can't pause without going to the menu, there's not much in terms of options (no volume or controller config for example), and there's no time trial or anything like that. If those bells and whistles matter to you, then this might not be your game.
But what you do get is some well crafted platforming. There is one attack and that is all you need. Every level is made brilliantly around it that is just works. I only got stuck in deathloops a couple of times, but after that it was back to blasting through the levels. No enemy is forgotten and you can all tell who they are and what they do at a glance, despite the limited color palette. The bosses, even though they are mostly basic shapes still have a fun design element to all of it. This is all wrapped up in a story that, despite not being the deepest, gets the job done and still has fun with it. If I had to give one complaint about the game play, its the jumping in and out of water feels weird, but with the short stay of the game, its not like that is gonna frustrate you for hours.
Great experience, and I'm glad I got it.

I don't write reviews often, but I felt like I had to for this game. The game is a pretty simple action platformer with an interesting mechanic, with the occasional fun boss fight. Spacespy's first game is a big success in my opinion. The games relatively short, taking anywhere from 1-2 hours, but its fun all the way. The music is banging, sound effects work well and the art is pretty good. Overall a very good game.
