Refunded. Well, I did just play it until a few fights after killing the dogmaster, and it was seriously boring, but that's on me. Combat was good, very tactical, you could literally kill anything with statuses like bleed or poison, but then, it was linear as hell. One thing I never liked on any game, you choose the lower path and that's it, no way to go back to the previous selection, no way to just "wait" where you're at, even if you're starved or don't have food/fuel. Maybe that's an option that opens up later in the game but it makes no sense to be that linear without that small part of agency on an RPG. The permadeath is good, as expected but aside from that my main gripe is how linear it is, and all that in 30 minutes, YEAH.

Nice mix of initiative based combat with FTL style exploration with zombie infested Latvian cities in background. Pros: * Combat system gives you a lot of choices and party composition + trinkets allows you to explore different builds. * Art and music in this game captures Rīga in spirit and map is recognizable for anyone who lived in that city. * Story is nice if you're in a mood to read. Additional points for individual character stories in the end. Cons: * UI can take a bit of work, clicks sometimes didn't register the first time I clicked and it looks underpolished. * Freezed couple of times when I switched to a different desktop (macos)

Relatively short game. Theoretically a game you could replay several times but its highly frustrating. Sometimes you get enemy zombies which are just to strong and wipe your team. And there are near to no possabilities to heal your team except the weird ones where you can hope that you have enough apples, otherwise you get fucket even harder because you dont have enough apples. Theoreically a funny casual game idea, but terribly balanced and voice over instead of text only would have been good for the game for the atmosphere..

Honestly, it comes across as a bit barebones for a game that, even on sale, I feel is a bit overpriced. I wanted to give it a try since I love zombies and I love turn-based combat, but nothing in the writing nor gameplay strikes me as particularly interesting. If the price was lowered substantially, I could see myself giving this a more fair go, but at 20 bucks (15 on sale when I tried it) I feel like the minimal amount of content and depth I experienced in the first couple hours just didn't make it worthwhile. The UI was a little finicky and wouldn't respond to my clicks pretty frequently, and some of the writing comes across as a bit amateurish (I mean this in the nicest way I can, since this is clearly a small team effort). Again, maybe for an incredibly deep sale (as in maybe 5-8 bucks) I would repurchase the game and give it another go, but from what I've seen, I don't think it's quite worth the purchase.
