Too hardcore for me. Especially in VR. Very short days. No tutorials. Just survive. My rating is 6 out of 10. The level doesn't feel very big. No more than any golf game. There are 3-4 types of monsters. Fire and weapons don't really affect enemy attacks. They don't care. Repetitive actions. I put everything I needed in a box and carried it with me. Overall, the game has good potential. But so far the experience is pretty average. Not upset, but not happy either. Sorry. Buy it, but don't expect the trailer experience. The trailer felt like a roguelike Firewatch type adventure. It's not.

I really enjoyed this.
I feel like the game has a lot of potential, but the day/night cycle feels a bit rushed, which, for me, definitely impacted immersion, especially if you're trying to craft or explore.

I have played this game for about 5 hours now and it seems pretty well. It has great physics and good graphics. But if there was one thing i don't like it would be the story. The narrator just tells you to (Maybe a spoiler) get a good lookout spot. i assume its climbing the mountain but i have tried to numerous times but to no avail, it may just be me but i cannot find a climbing path. but other else than that everything is great i get decent fps on my rtx 4070 super with max settings on dlss set to quality so i don't really have any issues. I mean if i really wanted to know i could look at a guide. But that's about it

Normally if I don't have something good to say about a game, I don't say anything. I have a pretty decent rig and a quest 3 that plays any new game just fine. But this game barely runs on any setting, just freezes and lags. This game is unplayable for me unfortunately. All the game hours in this game were spent just trying to get settings to work in between freezes. Intel i7 12x, 16G ram, 3070, and quest 3. Done trying, thumbs down.

i love the graphics and i would love if you add more caves or more safe areas because i found a little cave in the game and it was very cool

Great game, solid 9/10 when you first start out, for me it decayed to 8 or 7.5 after 7 hours. I have only encountered one major bug. at one point during game play i fell from a high place and accidentally opened the in-game menu, which saved me from fall damage. later that game I tried to load an earlier save, and the moment I got in I died from fall damage, despite being on the ground not near a high area. Very lame bug that caused me to lose all my progress, but still great game, would be 10/10 if it had multiplayer, and and option for completely randomized worlds.

I really love how the idea as a sailor stuck on the island fighting for survival but the game would be so much better with multiplayer. How cool would it be surviving on an island with your friends.

This game is a buggy unplayable mess. I really, really tried to like this game, but it's so much more unpolished and boring than the trailer makes it seem. It has the most repetitive game loop ever, and night-time is super uninteresting after the 4th night. It's just an annoyance. Because fires are super easy to start, there is no danger of actually dying unless your firewood FALLS THROUGH THE FLOOR and then you die because, yeah no firewood anymore. Things falling through the floor happened often, usually with pieces of wood. However I've had a knife, bottle, and musket all fall through the floor and delete themselves. Why are the devs adding bossfights before fixing glaring issues like this? Also the character moves so slow, it feels like they made it that way to drag out the playtime.
Additionally, the lack of an inventory in the earlygame, at all, makes moving from place to place extremely annoying. I get that the game wants to be an immersive sim, but there's so many design choices that expressly go against it. From the night creatures that have such buggy and inconsistant AI, that they will never try to go into a cave with you if there's a fire at the entrance. However they have no problem completely ignoring however much weight is in the buggy, janky ass box you use to carry everything around in because there's no inventory, and sending your things everywhere. Making you either spend the ENTIRE next day looking through all your things in the bushes like you just lost a pair of contact lens, or just not have that item anymore. Or god forbid, if you're carrying things in the box and your elevation changes just right, something in the box will clip into the box, causing it to spaz out and just throw your things everywhere while floating in the air. How are physics problems like that still in the game???? Why are the devs adding frogs and lizards and bosses before figuring out making the physics engine not a buggy mess?
The new critters and rain won't even help the island feel less static either, the game uses the same island, with pretty much the same layout (except sometimes the infinite water sources are in different predetermined spots now! D:) meaning that every new run of the game is basically the same as the run before. It also claims to be open world, which with the several invisible walls I've run into, and how badly a very slight elevation change makes it impossible to traverse where you want to go without spending a whole day finding the intended path. Except oh now you can get a torch from chests now because you lived for 3 days and died! That's not how unlocks should work! Unlocks based on time played should enrich or change the game experience enough that the second, third, fourth, etc runs will be more fun! But nope, you get:
Torch that is literally worse than a large stick
Knife that gives you infinite food, making food a chore instead of a struggle
Musket that is just a big flintlock that does more damage
Satchel, which FINALLY gives you inventory space
And a "Book of building" which lets you make structures... In a game about always being on the move.
None of these unlocks are fun things that can change up gameplay. At most they're necessary items that the game is just unplayable without (locked behind day 12 mind you), and the others are so insignifigant or completely useless that when you see one of them instead of a flintlock or a satchel, you're just disappointed. And when the top guide on steam literally says to cheese your way to day 16, then shoot yourself so you have all the unlocks, there's something terribly wrong with the unlock system.
Also, the way items are obtained is so stupid. They come in washed up chests on the shore, there's maybe 10 of them per game, and it's such an unfun and unsatisfying way to get items.
Okay okay, so if the map sucks, the gameplay loop sucks, there's a lot of bugs, the character moves super slowly, managing your food and water is braindead easy, and night isn't threatening at all, then what is this game?
It wants to be an immersive sim, but it just feels like a walking sim with chores, where sometimes some game-breaking bug happens that causes it to end.
Or just sometimes you don't even get to play, because you're sitting in a corner flailing a flaming piece of wood around while a night creature runs into your box of things, gets it stuck in its wings, then throws your things off of a ledge.
I made it to the shipwreck, spending every minute trying to convince myself this was a fun game, and I was having fun, but was met over and over with unfun game mechanics that makes this game a slog to play. It's very rarely that a game makes me feel like I've wasted my time and money, but this game does so spectacularly. The time leading up to when I quit the game was spent with me cursing at bugs, being upset with my items going everywhere, sitting in a corner like I'm in timeout or something, walking around at the slowest pace ever (even while "sprinting"), and generally having an unfun, frusturating, annoying, and terrible time playing.

[h1] I think that the unlock system is broken. [h1] Days are too short and the gameplay is somewhat repetitive. But the potential for this game is huge.
