Pure nostalgia
Let me get the negatives out first: Silly Spell system, finding spells either through loot or Magic merchants is entirely random. So some spells you want for a certain school of magic might elude you throughout the whole game. Utterly useless skills. Some Skills have NO VALUE WHATSOEVER or are not properly working, like the pick pocket skill. Levelling the swimming skill has no point, you'll do very little swimming through the whole game for the few islands it has. Quests that cannot be finished or upon completion will not disappear from the players quest log. Crashes and bugs, My recent play-through had a lot of crashes but only a few bugs. Best to save a lot while playing. The Good things I found are: Large game world. Huge variety of enemies. Tis dialog Shakespeareth attemph at English Factions with some offering good merchant options for the player. Buying goods from certain merchants for a cheaper price or selling to certain faction merchants for more gold. Fun combat, mainly melee combat. The weirdness of the game might be entertaining too This Steam version sadly seems to have the no end game cut scene bug. So just go onto YouTube to view the two different endings. This had to compete against Oblivion back in the day and clearly it lost.

Ignore the reviews and dive in. The old school open world feel of the game would appeal to anyone who loves Morrowind, Oblivion, and similar games. This game is from my childhood and I know it like the back of my own hand.

Good to pass some time away, but overall not recommended. Visuals are passable considering its age, combat is again passable with the ability to "dodge" (a feature missing from TW2) - Two Worlds is hugely unbalanced in every department, magic is massively underwhelming requiring massive spell upgrades before it becomes 'useful' Alchemy is extremely overpowered with the ability to create potions giving you thousands of permanent hit points, magic or stats. Mounts are buggy, with horses having pathing issues constantly. Item fusion is also overpowered giving the player the ability to fuse together the same items and have the stats cross-over, allowing for some extremely overpowered godly items. Another major issue is frame rate and stuttering which happens constantly, and gets fairly annoying. The game contains plenty of side quests but since the 'quest' tracker is confusing, most of the time you can't really figure out where your supposed to go, or to talk too. The main story quests are extremely convoluted with plenty of pointless running around just to open simple doors so you can continue your quests. Balance in every department is poor and its very noticeable - once you complete the main quest line, the ending is exceptionally bad....I'm talking 'Mass Effect 3 bad' Overall, I cannot recommend Two Worlds but for people looking for a quick open world rpg to pass some time, and if you can find this game for 'cheap' or free, then its worth maybe checking out if your a fan of the genre.
