Easy to pick up. The combat is a little tame and survival isn't too bad. The environments are beautiful and tons of small things to do on each map.

Game is bugged on a main quest in Gloriana's Tears. I have submitted a bug report with no response after 4 days. I cannot progress unless this is fixed. You cannot create additional characters without deleting your current character and if you want to join a friend you have to create a whole separate character and start over. I have 73 hours in the game and was enjoying it until I hit this glitch but not being able to progress is very frustrating. I do not recommend this game right now.

Nightingale had a lot of hype behind it before early access launch, and unfortunately it seems the crowd following it were really disappointed with the "early access launch". I was not around for that, and in 2025 this game feels really well put together. Its playing with several different ideas quite well, and its my modern "Time Commando" Crafting Survival for the moment. I think right now its an easy recommend if you like crafting/survival/open world/anything steampunk. There is a ton of stuff here to play with and I think you will get much more than your moneys worth even if it is not on sale. There are some things I would like to see optimized, I think the character creator is a bit over the top, things of this nature, but for me this is an easy game to recommend.

It's a 5/10. It plays fine the but the UI and the endgame could use a polish.

The single player offline mode is fun, the atmosphere and lore are great. Looks to be infinite realms with cards to play on the realms to influence them. Procedural generation with your influence. Very pretty! Much cooler and larger creatures than a lot of other games, gives the feel of what No Man's Sky promised but failed to deliver at launch with the brontosaurus imagery in ads. QoL tips: Get underlings to farm the hard basic materials for you. All about gear level, maxing numbers doesn't matter much since lower tier gear is gonna feel awful fighting higher level enemies. Hold E to pick up all that can be near you, that is not mentioned anywhere but the random tips screen. Lots of lore (that you can skip), I like the stories. And the puzzles. Difficulty can be changed easily. No clue about what the networking state of the game is. At launch, central game servers used to be unreliable. Peer to peer server hosting option now still has the "experimental" label.

A solid survival crafting game with not only interesting world mechanics there's also the diversity of the Realms. If you want another solid survival game to add to your library I can't help but recommend Nightingale.

I will not lie, this game has some rough edges, and yet it does so many things right that I feel it doesn't deserve its' mixed rating. It definitely oversold itself at release, but as it stands now it is worth the 30$.

Gave it 2 chances. 1st time played it through 2nd time after realms rebuilt. Cant remember much now but combat was boring and the game play loop kinda killed me. All i can think is it was a drag. Game looks amazing. + there

Goodness does this game need time to cook, but given the 'recipe' they have this game could be great. The art style is unique and sticks out, they have a wonderfully complex crafting system that rewards you for really sitting down and focusing, and there's always something you could be doing. Downsides? It's a little bare at the moment. Copy-pasted dungeons will quickly become redundant and without more in the way of variety it becomes more of a chore than an adventure. Sometimes things are really confusing too, don't be afraid to google help when it comes to this game. Overall? I'd say let them cook. I'm happy I have the game but I recognize it's flaws.
