Satisfying game, but too childish for me atleast. Worths if you just want to pass some time. Well optimized as well.

The game is...fine. The story is good, the new characters a welcome addition, and the graphics are gorgeous. That comes at a bit of a cost, since the joy of exploring a side corridor for treasure is now mostly replaced by randomly dying as you jump off into something that *looks* like it's a secret corridor but is just background decorations. The weapon selection is somewhat less original than previous games, and more so than in those I feel like this game makes enemies into bullet sponges to such an extent that running out of ammo is a bigger issues than it used to be, and the joy of finding a favorite weapon is destroyed by being able to use it for 8 seconds at a time. I don't see much replay value here, so all in all I only recommend this game if it's at least 50% off.

3/5 stars. graphics are solid, though the writing is garbage. The whole "Rifting" thing is so played out, and so is the emotionally scarred tough female lead character. The combat may be the laziest enemy scaling and un-creative enemy combat moves I have every played. 90% of the enemy's literally just swipe lazers at you... but alas I got it on a deep discount and I enjoyed it enough to play it once and would recommend it for some easy, classic style shooter, or casual gaming.

Over two play throughs in 31 hrs., gathering every collectable, & getting all achievements by the end of the second time through it. - It's incredibly "mid" for a Ratchet & Clank game, which is saying a lot, because almost all of the canon story games for R&C are GOLD! - It felt short & a little rushed, maybe because you're always switching between playing as Ratchet or Rivet. Maybe because the writing is lacking & a bit more contrived than the other games. Maybe because you never actually fix Clank after he has his legs broken & his arm missing the whole game. Maybe because the menus actually give you a percentage of how far along in the game you are. Or maybe it's because all the other Ratchet & Clank games have mystery & you don't know what's really going to need to happen, but here you do. - You start with a mcguffin you already know, against an enemy you've already beaten (twice). & now, you know exactly what you need to do with no mystery whatsoever: build another dimensionator, fix the multiverse, defeat Dr. & Emperor Nefarious. - Only, you only have to defeat the "Emperor" from Rivet's universe...as Rivet, & "Dr." Nefarious is just kinda crushed in a cutscene so quick, it's like "blink & you'll miss it".
On top of all the writing issues, the game LOOKS amazing. But whereas the other Ratchet & Clank games keep adding more ways to traverse the environment, guess what, this game adds even more. What started with just grind rails, magnet boots, & slingshots in the 1, then adding more & more each game. Now, it has every means of travel from the other games, minus the multiple modes for Clank, since you don't fix him, & KT doesn't have any, plus a few more, like riding a bug, jumping through portals, and wall running. & then there's a couple planets where you smack rocks to switch between a pair of linked dimensions, which is cool, but gets confusing, sometimes, especially on grind rails, & one of them is even a one time event, so if you missed those rocks, you miss an achievement.
As usual, there's a few repeats of weapons from previous games, with some variant types on new ones. I wasn't really impressed with most of the weapons in this game, which is sad, because the weapons in the other games are the best part of the game. It's like they put more effort into adding more traversal methods than anything else.
Honestly, I want this game to have good reviews, just so Sony & Insomniac will have enough faith to put the rest of the Ratchet & Clank back catalog on Steam. Because "SHUT UP & TAKE MY MONEY," I'd buy & play them all again, in a heartbeat. - SO, in a nutshell, as a game it's good. As a Ratchet & Clank, it's mid. - Is it worth the full $60 price? Not in my opinion. I bought it on sale. I hope you do, too.

This is still the only game that utilises and showcases the PS5s gimmick with its SSD.
It came out in 2021.
Now it's on PC.
The PS5 is the most pointless console ever created.

Excellent port, feels like a native PC game, only wish they'd port over some of the older games, this isn't the strongest entry in ratchet and clank games, but it's a lot of fun and absolutely a solid title, arena is great, controls are smooth, rivet is a great addition to the cast

A game about a furry coping with existential crisis about being the last of his kind so he ventures into other dimensions to find his species counterparts, only to get his plans thwarted by an evil squidward-lookalike robot doctor who fantasizes about conquering the world and exterminate furries. Gameplay is not too difficult and provides a decent challenge, even for someone like me who has hoplophobia. Best part about this game is the Big Head feature that maintains even in cutscenes which can make for some hilarious moments.
Would recommend if you like inter-dimensional travel, furries, and big heads.
