over rated game with quite buggy and sh.t mechanics.

This is one of the best pieces of media created by human beings. First souls like I was able to stick with and loved every moment. Krilliant writing and fun graphics. Like if banjo kazooie had a real message behind it.

Casual indie souls like action rpg. Definitely has some charm. Those looking for a less stressful/tense experience will enjoy this.

A "silly" game that tackles capitalism, marine pollution, and other timely themes? Developers spending USD 70,000 on related charities? Wow, wow, wow. I've always wanted to get this game because of the art style, but I was surprised with so much more than just that. This game is one of the best games that I've played this year; the gameplay, the writing, the level design, everything was so good. I found myself truly enjoying this game at ALMOST every single part (
the archer crabs and the giant laser explosion crabs were way too annoying hahaha
). The humor, the easter eggs, you can tell that Aggro Crab put so much love into this game. The ending legitimately almost made me cry. Really, beautiful writing. So poetic. Like you're
breaking out of your shell.
Your time, your money, your attention, all of these are deserving for this game. I cannot wait to play NG+ when the update releases, and I'd even gladly pay for a DLC if ever the developers come out with one. If there's any constructive comments that I could provide for this game, it would be to maybe insert voice acting into every dialogue. I found it a little bit difficult to "attach" myself to the other characters because I barely hear their voices. Other than that, 10/10. Beautiful.wow.

A ton of fun, great accessibility options (from someone who really struggles with these kinds of games), and a great story with tons of genuinely hilarious moments.

The gameplay its adequate, Do not expect so much about the history, and the dialogues between the crab and his companions (4 real, who wrote this?) It actually a cool and fun souls-like adventure.

This is probably the cutest souls-like I have ever seen or played. One of the best parts is to read anything that has text on it because the team really had a fun time with putting jokes on the packaging of anything.

In an ocean where the market is now over-saturated with souls-like titles and replicas of classic FromSoftware video games, Another Crab's Treasure is a cute and surprisingly good addition to the genre considering that it is an indie developed video game with a smaller team, lower budget, etc. I think it is perhaps one of my favorites for this type of video game. Actually, perhaps by now it is not surprising to see these indie teams producing a high-quality product and this game more than meets the expectations. It is one game done right and not just created to try and capitalize upon the community's love for hardcore or difficult video games like we see with a lot of other video games in this genre. The game mixes fun combat and character progression through stat building where your hermit crab, named Kril, utilizes that of a crab fork to maim and slaughter his enemies as he goes on a quest to retrieve a possession stolen from him by a money hungry urchin who has ceased power over that region of the ocean through what the sea creatures are calling "taxation." Kril has no idea what taxation even is and why it resulted in him losing what was dire to him and so the video game is ultimately an allegory for high taxes as well as environmentalism. As you explore the depths of the ocean, you'll come across all sorts of debris and litter from the surface world polluting the landscape of the underwater biome. Discarded soda cans and glass drinking cups can even be used by Kril and repurposed as temporary protection from those who would prey on the sole hermit crab. You'll see missing sandals, popsicle sticks, cigarette butts in the vast dunes . . . it's perhaps a bit exaggerating the realism to just how much trash is laying around but the point is clear: take care of the ocean and properly recycle your trash so that it does not become harmful, invasive sediment to the ecosystem. It's turning the crabs into hoarders and creating a form of currency that they are killing one another for in order to enrich themselves with the trash, because the trash you collect acts as your currency to buy new things with. Yes, the game is political in this regard and would tip the scale more into the 'wokeness' category but it doesn't cross the line into moralizing, preachy, and nonredeemable garbage like other video games that are way too on-the-nose with the messaging they are trying to convey. Another Crab's Treasure is instead more satirical and humorous with its messaging and this is certainly the way to handle divisive topics. The subtlety of it will float passed the heads of those who are not so aware of the political climate while those who are seasick of all the pandering and virtue signaling and who have been haunted by the pretentious activists who latch onto video gaming like the hideous barnacles they are won't be so bothered by them in this game. The game instead takes the topics of environmentalism and criticizing capitalism (which is still overdone, get over it already) and simply just makes harmless light of it rather than trying to proselytize us through their own delusions. The developers remembered that this is a video game and that video games are meant to be FUN rather than sanctimonious. As you play and explore, you'll level up your character and unlock new skills. You'll come across different types of shells that you can use to hide the hermit crab's weirdly shaped derriere where each shell has a different stat to it to compliment whatever style of gameplay you prefer, whether it's something more aggressive or something more defensive. There's a lot of interesting references throughout the game, such as how one shell references Dark Souls, another shell references Disco Elysium, etc. A lot of the characters you can interact with are written with dialogue that isn't very serious and where jokes are being made, it's overall a very cheery adventure rather than something dark and horrific that often encompasses games like this. As far as its difficulty goes, I wouldn't say that it matches the difficulty of other games of its type or does anything new to expand upon the genre. Experienced players to souls-like video games will probably make mincemeat of the bosses within a few attempts at the most, but it could perhaps be a good entry into the genre for those inexperienced players. As seems to be a commonly shared issue among these games, the camera often works against you and can be your worst enemy that results in your death more than it should, particularly in those tight-knit areas and corridors. I liked the parkour elements that sometimes existed throughout the journey, although fighting on those small platforms was sometimes more annoying than fun. The game is also only $30 USD full price, which makes it even more worth the price tag on a sale. Video games of this quality for that cheap of a price are becoming exceedingly rare as studios begin a new era where video games are, at minimum, $70 USD.

After tryharding in Elden Ring and DS3, playing this was a breath of fresh air. The fun souls-like combat mechanics and progression but mixed in with a lighthearted tone and story was beautifully combined to create a casual but also competitive experience. Highly recommend this game if you enjoy cute and bright gameplay experience but also crave a thrilling combat sequences. Almost 100%ed this game with just about under 40 hours of playing but its also a good length to binge play through a boring weekend or progress little by little through out the week.
