Strangely addicting and relaxing game. It takes a little time to get the hang of the controls, but not too long. I enjoyed the exploration aspect of it the most. Unlocking new areas and discovering the new resources and creatures within them was the best part of the game for me. You have to pay attention though when unlocking new areas. I was too reckless and died multiple times to some animals I got too close to. The art style may not be for everyone, but I actually really liked it. The music was pretty good too and fits the feel of the game pretty well. Overall the game is pretty good and I would recommend!

This is a nice chill, slow-paced game. The controls take a minute to figure out, but it's pretty simple once you read through them. Make sure to check in with the tutorial statues (I forgot to once and was a bit confused) and then you are good to go! I have enjoyed crafting my way through the levels so far.

This game is awesome! I’m super impressed with how much content there is to go through for such an inexpensive game. The amount of playtime you get for the price is fantastic! It’s the kind of game you could accidentally spend half of a day playing and not realize it. Just when I think I’ve figured out almost everything about how the game works, I learn something new. If you think you’re done exploring, keep looking. It was a little tricky to figure out at first, but the Totem has pretty much all of the hints you could ever need, so that was super helpful. It definitely has a unique set of inventory controls, but they’re pretty easy to pick up on. Having a little tutorial world at the very beginning was also super handy. Parts of the game are a bit buggy (like an occasional monster stuck in a wall), but I have yet to come across anything that has prevented me from playing the game. You just might be a bit startled when a hidden monster starts chasing you ;) The other thing that I really like about this game is that you can play it however you want to. I have some maps that I’m letting the hives take over in and I periodically try to fight my way through it. I have other maps that I’m taking time to build out, farm, and collect resources. If you want to spend time fighting, you’ll have more than enough monsters to work with. If you want to spend your time farming and building out worlds, there are a ton of different maps with their own unique elements and challenges to work through. I also like the resource management aspect of the game. I learned the hard way that if I completely cleared a map of trees, stone, water, or plants, it would take much longer to continue to collect those resources. Having to think about how to manage and increase the resources that are available is a really fun challenge that I haven’t seen in many games. I have been pretty burned out with online multiplayer games lately and have been trying to find a good local co-op game instead. This one fit the bill perfectly while still being a really entertaining single player game as well.

Refreshing indie game. It's reminiscent of Myst in that you get dropped in a world without clear instructions and have to discover what the goals are. There are statues that you can speak with to get direction but I liked just discovering the world on my own. Also nice that it's a co-op split screen game that you can team up on. Played with my wife. Definitely recommend.

criminally underrated, I'm only a few hours in but this game offers quite a lot considering the price. There's a lot of things the game doesn't explain that are quite useful so I'll list a few that I've found so far: - trees grow back as explained by the statue, however rocks seem to also come back over time. In addition, you can dig them up with a shovel for quick stone. - you can actually plant stuff inside of the vases you buy from the guy in the area to the right of the start. I planted some berries, not sure if you can also do grass. Just drop them while you're near the vase.

Such a fun game for both me and my 10 year old. Love exploring and figuring things out!

A game you cannot take at face value. Art direction was de-prioritized in favor of allowing a small team to focus on survival mechanics. While the look may not be for everyone, I highly recommend that you check it out if you are curious.

Life of Pepe is perfect for those seeking a non-linear, co-op experience! The art is simple but has a certain charm to it. The mining, exploration, and building mechanics are addicting. Each new world is unique and offers its own set of challenges that need to be overcome in order to progress through the "tollbooths". This game lets you create your own adventure. You can focus on combat by seeking out enemy hives or choose a more passive route by spending your time building and farming. Basically, you're free to enjoy the game however you'd like. With that being said, you get out what you put in. If you're looking for a game with a clear objective and linear progression, this game may not be a good choice. Overall, I've had a great time playing Life of Pepe and exploring all the game has to offer. There is a surprising amount of content to keep you entertained in this game, it's definitely worth playing!

I enjoyed playing co-op with a friend, though 1P was good too. It's easy to add/drop a second player at any time. The tutorial was nice and short and I got into mining and crafting pretty quickly. Took a minute to grasp the controls, but once I got them it was fun. I like the animals.

I like the open sandbox feel of this game. Want to fight bad guys? Great. Do you prefer to live the simple life and build up your own homestead? Also great! It took me a bit to get the hang of the controls, but once you get out of the tutorial world, there is so much that this game has to offer! I would definitely recommend this game and I love the unique and charming graphics. Fun as a single player or also with a friend! I'm excited to check out the other worlds and see what I can create.
