Fantastic concept for a game and great story but terrible execution.

Even with everything translated, i could hardly understand what was being asked of me. Neat idea, very poor execution.

Actually very good dame, which I would recommend to you if you: 1. Know english very well (very important) 2. Love visual novels (not much action) 3. IQ should be at least more than game's journalist First playthrough can take maximum one hour. After which, buckle up for trying to decipher engima, or have a very good intuition for words. Because game will give you NO hints, aside from
dreams
. Liked the concept, but I think that there is much more potential in this.

While the gameplay and puzzle is a bit tough (sometimes instead of deduction I went through pure decryption), the story is both interesting and well told, as well as quite emotional. Some passages don't make much sense to me ? I assume it's the Japanese to English to Fake language that lost some meaning...

Great concept, has some flaws and definitely could've been executed better but a great game regardless. I started playing because of the premise of understanding a story in a language you don't know sounded interesting but after my first play-through I sticked with it just for the story and other endings. The story itself might not be everyone's cup of tea but it was enough to move me emotionally (i cried). Definitely recommended

A short ground hog day game that you try to find out where you are, who you are, who she is, and most importantly, what's going on? Find out by guessing words through past conversations.

Absolutely amazing game, difficult initially, but it grew on me very quickly and a surprisingly in depth plot for a indie game about linguistics. I would heavily recommend it to anyone who is even slightly interested in language. Solid 9/10 game

After playing through this game, I have to say I enjoy it, but as other reviews have said, it is flawed. A significant amount of words can be deciphered based on context alone, from clicking on various objects and doing chores.
For example, one of the first things I figured out was the numbers 1-7 based on the calendar in the bedroom, and colors quickly followed from the books on the shelf
This made the beginning one of the more satisfying parts of the game and gave me motivation to find more words. But some of the words there just isn't enough context, which means that unlike real-life language acquisition,
you have to decrypt using a caesar cypher. I was able to figure this out by looking for common letters between the various words I knew to be accurate, such as "three" and "eight," and then I went through some of the other words and was able to figure it out for the entire alphabet. Then I numbered the letters and started shifting them one at a time. While it was fun to figure out the gimmick, it is quite tedious to decrypt each word, and for some of the longer words I prompted ChatGPT to do it for me. Unfortunately, this is when I started noticing some of the game's brokenness. One of the worst ones was probably "disap," which apparently is short for "disappear"... but they could have easily just used the full word. There are also mis-spelled words like "understan" (last 'd' is missing). Some of the cyphered words also did not wrap around correctly, so you get things like "Bozle" for the main character's name, which took me a while to figure out was actually saying "Boyle." Before I figured out the mistakes, I thought I had been mistaken in creating the key I made, when really it was an issue with the game.
I figured out most of it on my own or with the assistance of tools, but by the end I kind of gave up on some of the words out of frustration and looked at word guides to fill in the last remaining ones. If the game had more content to explore, such as more chores and more rooms in the house, and perhaps other activities you could do, like reading books, then it would have been more fun to figure out the various words organically. But some of the words are only mentioned once or twice and can't be figured out based on context, or there are errors, so you're left to
decryption
. I wish an update could be released, and then the game would probably land among my favorites. As for the story, the simplified grammar structure of the game's language leaves a lot to guesswork once you have actually figured out the words, which can be a good or a bad thing depending on your point of view. Personally I like stories that are open to interpretation, so I enjoyed this, but I can see why some people wouldn't. Without spoiling anything, I'll say that the story seems kind of a normal mystery at first but reveals itself to be a psychological horror, which is when I really started getting invested in it beyond just the "What is going on?" premise. I'll also talk a little about the UI. It is pretty good overall. I think my only complaint is that towards the middle to end of the game you have a lot of words stored, so it would be nice if there was a search function for the words you have already translated rather than scrolling through a long list asking "Where was that again?" There is also no ability to skip days or skip dialogue you've already seen, which is a bit annoying when you've played through the game 10 times and finally figured out enough of it to get a different ending. You also can't skip
dream sequences
which never add anything new, so they're quite a slog to get through. I also don't like the way the game handles the passage of time. On some days there is literally nothing to do besides what you always do (learning new words). Some events happen at specific times on specific days, but they require walking from room to room until the appropriate amount of time passes. It would be nice if there was a napping feature, or again, just more to do in the game overall. It sometimes feels like an incomplete experience. I'll also talk about the endings a little bit.
While I liked them, it's a little annoying that there aren't more of them. The only condition to get a different ending is whether or not you open the secret basement in the alchemy room -- and that's it. That means none of the other events or choices really matter in the long-run, even that sequence where Theo tells you to hide because it's dangerous. There are also other sequences where Theo will show you other pieces of paper like one with a drink that disappears, at which point you can agree or disagree to help her research, but this choice also has no effect on the ending. Realizing these interactions have no effect on the ending makes them feel quite pointless. By the end of the game all I did through the seven days was open the secret room and then sleep until I got to the end so I could give her a different response.
Despite some disappointments about the game, I did get this on sale for a little more than $6 and had a good time with it across two days, so I feel like I got my money's worth. If you need a puzzle game to spend an afternoon or two on, I'd say go for it. I just hope this game gets revisited or updated in the future.

Great concept but could've been executed better. It has an interesting plot, and I am in the boat that doesn't complain about the UI but simple issues like no manual save, figuring out one puzzle solving way too much takes away a lot. If the developer revisits this title in the future with the care they show now I would be happy to replay it.
