The game seems very interesting in the steps of Uncharted waters. However, I encountered quite serious bugs (like ships being not visible) and there is zero support.
Cannot recommend.

I love the game so far but I can not recommend it with the constant loss of connection and being kicked off for no internet connection on a completely single player game! its so frustrating and it isn't even like I have spotty internet either!

I was looking for a game being similar to the old KOEI Uncharted Waters, so I bought the base game for about 5 Euros; which is a fair price.
Impressions so far … ok; it's actually very similar to UW but not totally the same. Positive are the in harbour menues and the neat, manga graphics as well as the fluent gameplay.
What I‘m personally not happy with is that you have to be online for playing this game.
Main negative aspect is the open world/navigation part. Visuals here are very edgy and so are the input options. Furthermore the ships appear giant on the map and the ports are shrunk (see also screenshot). There are two options (2D/3D) to see and navigate your fleet. When playing with mouse and keyboard there are no possibilities to change perspective or zoom details on 2D. On 3D mode you can change the perspective and zoom level, but not far enough to clearly check what‘s going on around your ship. That‘s especially disturbing when there are many other ships (also appearing giant) sailing around; blocking the sight totally. Sometimes when leaving the port, there is some bug, where you can only see the sky; you have to check the options menue then to newly adjust if you want the 2D or 3D mode.
Further bugs seen are, that at battle mode ships are also shown giant, so there are no chances seing the enemy correctly nor is there a possibility for sufficient fight. Futhermore some ports you don't seem to be able to enter, because when you cruise around them you don't get the info that you have discovered the port.
Navigation on the map is also quite imbalanced; often when clicking on a single position on the ocean, you get the information that it can't be reached, although not being far form your current position.
Alltogether the game (by a small developer team) is okay so far, but edgy (would say it's currently unfinished) with some major issues. I would give a mediocre vote, hoping the developers will fix those mentioned issues (e.g. better navigation/open world presentation (esp. reducing ship sizes) and controlling improvements on the open world map) soon.
Small update after the patch … at least the issues with discovering and entering ports are gone. Quests blocked by this issue are soluble now.
Proportions of ships and ports on the open world part (as well as ships in the battles) are still at the same level as described above; no changes so far.
Issues with graphical presentation of the open world (seeing only the sky) when loading a game or finishing a battle have remained.
Overall still some work to do for an adequate game experience.
