If you enjoyed the base game, than you will love all the DLC.

The DLC on this game is underrated.

Quite an excellent expansion for DG1 with even more maps and two new AI characters. Much better replayability and “raspberries” for Fletcher.

It looks more like a cheap mobile game. Very bad mouse control. Almost no balance. The towers are quite weak and too expensive. Your only help is a slow charging laser. Almost everything is similar in the game tower enemies unless you get too close. Boring repetitive levels the same. There is no level of difficulty and they are played as if they were the last time. I don't even know if it's worth it even with a discount.

It's overpriced for what it offers, which isn't much to write home about anyhow. I was not particularly interested in the maps themselves, and honestly felt that the art direction far outweighed the design philosophy. Give it a miss unless you find it on a super sale or, even better, live the game to put down $5 on a handful of maps.

Some really fun maps, and let's be fair...more Defense Grid is always better.

Another solid DLC outing for Defense Grid. Great to hear Alan Tudyk's voice, as always. Some interesting story elements, but all in all a good excuse for some more quality tower defence. Not as interestingly awesome as the "You Monster" DLC, though. Recommended.
R E V I E W
Defense Grid: Containment DLC follows the story of the base game with eight new maps and 40 modes in total where you find yourself fending off the alien invasion on a new world. It also reveals the backstory of Fletcher, your charming artificial intelligence companion with a British accent, and introduces a new artificial intelligence companion as well as a human companion. I found the map design to be somewhat restrictive since about half of the maps feel like they almost force you to play a certain way in order to be successful which is somewhat antithetical to the tower defense genre. Even worse, the challenge modes are almost exactly the same for each map as the "Grinder" and "Super Grinder" challenge modes are present on almost every map and are frankly mind-numbingly monotonous, dull, and repetitive modes that artificially extend the DLC's playtime while providing very little variation to the maps. In contrast, the base game and its other DLCs have a much wider variety of challenge modes which don't waste your time and allow each map to be played in more unique ways instead of the Grinder and Super Grinder modes over and over again. Furthermore, unlike the Defense Grid: The Awakening - You Monster DLC, this DLC introduces no new gameplay mechanics or twists to the maps that keep you engaged and it instead only provides more of the same gameplay as the base game which already has an over-abundance of gameplay and content. The story seems to lack continuity and appears disconnected because I was never sure how we got from one map to the next in the second half of the campaign and, if you turn the subtitles on, there are actually a few typos in the script which is somewhat disappointing when compared to the base game which had a much bigger script or the You Monster DLC which had a similarly-sized script. The voice acting for the two new companions is also very generic, flat, and uninspired, particularly when compared to Fletcher's charm and unique sayings. Overall, I don't recommend this DLC because it feels lazy, perfunctory, poorly designed, and overpriced for the amount and quality of content that you get. It really only adds eight new map designs considering that the challenge modes are almost exactly the same for each map and are a drudgery to play due to their lack of player engagement and the sheer time investment required. Because the base game already has so much content, as well as a wider variety of it, this DLC is frankly not worth getting unless you're an avid fan of the game or are an achievement hunter — in which case, I highly recommend waiting for it to go on sale for 75% off at 1.24 USD which it does so approximately twice a year.

A C H I E V E M E N T S
This DLC adds eleven achievements that require you to earn a gold medal on all 40 modes which will take approximately 30 grueling and arduous hours to acquire.

This final DLC of Defense Grid is a very nice set of 8 maps, taking you INTO the alien world for a couple of missions. As always, this set is a very nice variety of maps , and some that are large and complex giving the user a wide variety of strategies that could be used on them. A couple maps proved rather challenging (for me anyway), requiring me to completely restart them several times before I found a working strategy. To complete the campaign of 8 maps took me roughly 3hrs 20mins, but the number of challenges for each level would give quite a bit of additional replay value. Definitely a nice addition to the game. 8.5 out of 10

The Defense Grid: Containment DLC adds 8 new levels to the game, comprising 4-5 challenges each. The levels feature a continuation of the storyline where the main game left off and also introduces a couple of new characters, which is pretty cool (though the voice acting leaves much to be desired). Although some of the new levels feature different types of environments, nothing has fundamentally changed about the core gameplay (same towers, same strategies, etc). And just to be clear - I'm not saying that's a bad thing. This is pretty much all I want or need out of a Defense Grid DLC. That said, I do have one slight disappointment, which is that these levels all seem particularly easy (or maybe I've just gotten better at the game... I dunno). Regardless, if you're like me and just find this game fun and relaxing to chill out with, then picking up this add-on is a no-brainer.
