A truly monster game. It will be helpful to have a OOBs for land, naval, and air units.

Like a lot of SGS games it looks cool on first impression, then you realize it's not actually finished - glitches, imbalanced mechanics, lack of documentation, major campaign bugs, lack of scenarios, etc. It really should be EA.
Take the positive reviews here with a grain of salt & note the number of hours those writers have played it - most are very early impressions. You won't find many w/high hour counts.
The main designer typically pops up occasionally w/meandering posts promising major improvements & fixes, then goes dark for months, then promises again, but it's been over a year & a half with nothing delivered. Feels like he really likes the *idea* of designing a wargame, but not the attention to detail or follow-thru it requires.
He also straight-up admitted that SGS releases large numbers of not-quite-finished games that they don't have the manpower to fully support, in order to make more money & fund new projects. Not surprising if you're familiar with their products.
If you want to scratch that Cold War Gone Hot wargaming itch, the two WW3 Flashpoint Campaigns games are way more deserving of your time & money.
