Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my initial impressions review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/DJJvBqQ0oBU I wouldn't say this is a good game as is. I will say that I think it's got potential and it's got a good core gameplay loop. However, I did experience some major bugs. The biggest issue I faced was the sounds were totally borked. The sounds sounded feint and like they were at a distance. There was usually silence. Obviously, sound is very important in VR gaming so that is a big issue that needs to be fixed. I understand this is in Early Access, but that's a serious issue that can't be overlooked. This is a roguelite FPS shooter with different seed levels you can select, along with degree of difficulty. You're a tiny robot on a hoverbike and you can fly around the halls of a space station as you hack, shoot, teleport, & gravity gun your way through & around enemies. You pick up ammo, scraps, & different hacks such as turning your enemy into an ally or putting them to sleep. Unfortunately, the gun feels like you're throwing spitballs because the bullet speed is so slow. Game is running on the Unity engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting mostly 90 fps. You do fly around in almost 6 degrees of freedom (you cannot pitch up or down). Movement feels very good and intuitive. The only settings available are for sound ... which are broken. I think the HUD is missing (Bug?) as that is shown on the store page video, but I didn't have a HUD in my gameplay. Overall, I was having fun, but also, things were getting a bit repetitive. It was a letdown seeing the same drab looking space hallways over and over. I think I saw 4 different enemy types: a spider robot, a flying drone, a big sentry type robot, and a turret robot. I think the game needs more variety and maybe some different types of objectives. Rate 5.5/10. I would only recommend this game for those wanting to support development.
If you enjoyed my review, please consider joining my Steam Curator Group.
