Checked out this project to get better at fps games on mouse and keyboard. I’m getting better at the island activities, but time will tell how well that translates to competition.
It’s evident that it’s still in early access, but there’s some real promise that this will become a really cool game after some updates. Mostly hoping more trials or activities show up to fill out the island more.
I’m also looking forward to trying this in VR at some point, thinking this game might have a nice ambience for VR.
Pros
The shooting mechanics and animations are generally on point
Gun design is nice while aiming
Great music for the island
Satisfying sound effects
The art style works surprisingly well for an aim trainer
Cons
Lack of variation between trials
Sniper sometimes has a weird animation
Lots of small bugs
I’d like more projectile customization and performance data from the trials

Fair play, games don't get much more mixed up than 'Shooter's Island'. On the one hand, you have a beautiful, colourful island that reminds me very much of 'Zelda Breath of the Wild'. You are free to explore the island, climb the hills and enjoy the beautiful blue seas lapping all around it. But then you have this cheap ass shooting range game bolted onto the top of the island that if you ask me ruins the enjoyment of the island! You get 3 guns and a handful of game modes, of which every area copies. Oh, and there are 2 timed shooting runs as well. If this had been a cutesy adventure game, or even a cartoon animal hunting game (child-friendly of course) it would have been amazing, but it's not, it's clearly an asset flip of some kind and not one that is worth anyone's time.
Check out my video to see what I mean (and yes, I do become stuck in a hole in the scenery in the end)... https://youtu.be/B7JYBs_SQNI
