Beat only up to unlocking the jump 2 (a higher jump) and about 5 levels, did not like it much.
My issues is as follows:
First, the leaderboards, they end up being unmotivating, to give an example. I had to run a straight line, 3 seconds, of course that is the normal time, what did the leaderboards show? The first five times alongside mine (I think it was in the 30s), the thing is, those times are 0.6 seconds the first and 1.3 the others. I don't know if they used a bug or cheated (probably the former), but you can't see a repetition to understand how that supposedly works, so there you are with a time so far below what is needed to be at the top and zero clue on what to do. This is exactly what will happen on all levels. The easy way to fix this (in my opinion) would be to either show first the players around you (so if Im 25, show from 28 to 22) and then allow you to see best times, the fact that you can't even see the times around you is a weird decision. Also the replay thing, at least for top time of each level would be cool to get rid of the suspicion that there might be cheating.
Also minor inconvenience was that the game did not show me my time at the end of a level when playing with no internet as it only shows that in the leaderboards and they were not loading.
Movement was weird, the acceleration just did not feel right but I'm not gonna lie, some routes on certain levels felt badass between the sliding, stopping time and doing 180's to reach some platforms so not bad all around, maybe it was a time spent issue and could have gotten accustomed to it, but for the 20+ minutes I played it did not happen.
I understand this seems like an extremely specific issue for a platformer, but it being a "precision platformer" and all one would rely on other players times to perfect ones own, at least when starting. It truly made it unfun for me.

This game is brutally difficult, but it has solid gameplay and a good amount of content for the price.

Fun game, simmilar to Extricate
Too bad only one level with freezing ability, that was cool idea
Also think lasers should insta kill, expected them to kill lol
I even abused touching them to save myself from danger or use as a shortcut to gain faster time
Some levels from chapter 5 and level 7.3 are pretty damn hard though, easy to slip off small green vertical poles
Very cool game otherwise as said, definitely worth it's price!

Extremely generic feeling game. The ost is terrible, the level design is extremely repetitive, and the movement is clunky. Nothing more needs to be said.

I already wrote a review for this game before but for some strange reason its nowhere to find now lol? Anyways, when I say that this game is AMAZING for speedrunning (and especially learning and perfecting its mechanics and speedrun tricks etc. which are hard to learn btw), I MEAN IT. Look at my hours here, I have more hours in this game than the entire dev team combined xD. I'm not writing this to flex, I'm just trying to say that you can trust my review. I'm currently first on almost every single level in the game, with some exceptions of times I can't beat because they seem straight up impossible lollllllll ( im talkin to u, RunStrafe >:c )

I had a good time with Trigo. Decent time-trial platformer for a great price. Doesn't feel cheap or thrown together like similar (and pricier) games I've tried.
71 levels (Chapters 1-7 + Hard mode) that are an obstacle course of jumps, lasers, moving platforms and red "water" that kills you. The goal of each level is to collect 3 shards and reach the exit as fast as possible, unlocking the next level. That being said - a lot of the appeal of this type of game is in improving your individual time on a level.
You get:
- 4 jumps of increasing height (4 separate jump buttons which hurt my brain at times)
- Crouch slide (which keeps your momentum)
- Freeze ability (freezes time and red death water so you can walk on it like the saviour of time you are)
You unlock a new jump at the start of each chapter (up to Chapter 4) so I wouldn't worry about optimising any times until you have all of them.
General thoughts:
The level design is alright, all of the courses are in a large rectangular room. Jumps and obstacles are spaced well enough for you to keep your flow if you use the correct jump. The on/off phases and positions of lasers usually line up well enough (to be there as an obstacle to avoid, not just to screw you over). It's essentially all irrelevant as you'll make you own route with your freeze power and super jumps.
Triangle geometry, it giveth and it taketh away, is occasionally annoying. Walls aren't smooth, lots of triangles, opportunity for shortcuts, but lost count of the times I bonked my head on a jump. The floor is also made of them, jumping off of one that is slightly raised above the others can be the difference in making or not making a jump.
Not much flow to the game. A bit vague, but basically, if you're imagining picking up and maintaining speed as you bunny hop, whizzing, weaving and air strafing between obstacles - this ain't really that. You walk, you 2x jump up to a platform, you quickly turn to make a 4x jump, you slide under a laser and hop over the next, freeze time, walk across the frozen water etc. It's a bit more stop/start precision jumps/movement than flowing through with speed.
Very difficult to build up speed (and hey, maybe you aren't supposed to). Top speed walking forward is 900u. You can jump, bunny hop, crouch slide, strafe or do a cartwheel and - regardless of what those anime speed-lines around the edge of the screen says - you will still be going 900u. There's no easy way to increase it. Jumping with moving platforms will give you a boost - and you can crouch slide, jump, re-crouch slide to maintain that speed, which is great, but opportunities to do so are limited (see lack of flow above). The only other way I found to gain speed isn't much fun and involves jumping into a wall and hoping you see a big number.
Gripes with the game:
- Mouse input has weird deceleration at points. It may be when crouching or in the air, but it feels like pulling through sludge. Not great when you're trying to do a 180 to make a precision jump and your mouse only turns halfway.
- I feel huge in this game and everything is so cramped. Like a big kid in a kindergarten playground.
- I'm too dumb to find the (x5) Secret :<
Summary:
I prefer a bit more room and speed to my parkour games, but Trigo scratched an itch and I had fun playing.

A really fun precision platformer. Would have liked a bit more level variety, but the game does such a good job at what it focuses on, I can't really complain.

A really fun precision platformer.
It takes a bit to get used to the crouch dash and the fast movement of the character, but when you get it, the true experience starts.

Has the potential to be good but a lot of strange choices by the developer limits it in feeling as satisfying as other precision platformers. All of the platforms are triangular instead of blocks and this can lead to you slipping off of them or pushed around very easily. Visually, it looks great, but it can end up slowing you down or outright ending the run. Just feels sloppier compared to blocks.
Requiring you to unlock a better jump is also not a great choice. You start off with a very small one and it doesnt feel great falling short of a lot of platforms in the early stages. Needing to go back with better abilities is not a great way to play these kinds of games. I like finishing them as I go, being all about learning shortcuts, not unlocking better moves.
The freeze time ability you get in the start is one of the worse choices. Because it also slows down the timer. So when you're trying to lower your time, instead of using it just as a platform ability you need to mash it anytime its cooldown is finished. This just feels awkward.
The Leader boards don't show enough. They don't show any times around you, there's no medals to earn. If you're not in the top 3 in the world you got nothing. Which upon finishing the first level where you walk in a straight line, you can see the top 1 player has a time of 0.6 something. Which is probably cheated. This is really underwhelming and nothing about winning is terribly rewarding.
The game isn't bad by any means and I'm sure many can find fun in it. But as someone who plays a lot of these kinds of games I think it falls just short.

Trigo is the kind of game that makes you rage in a very positive way. First of, the controls are crazy responsive, everything feels smooth, and finishing a level feels rewarding! It's fun, it's challenging and it makes you play a level over and over again just to get that time record you strive to have. When you fail here, it feels like only you're to blame, and it feels like more of a challenge to beat it rather than frustration. I like that each progressing level introduces nuances that keep the game difficult but never infuriating.
The low-poly design is very catchy and pleasing to the eye. The level design and game mechanics allow you to be creative in your approach and are what fundamentally drives the gameplay. Last but not least, the leaderboard really pushes you to play risky in order to beat other player's records, which is something I enjoy.
This game also offers great replayability, with 61 levels to play
Definitely worth buying!
