needed the cash back for personal reasons, only tried the tribe creator and it looked very in depth and amazing, at least compared to what i was expecting.
will definitely rebuy when i can to finally try it out properly.

a lil over 100 hours ... its an alright game played very early and hasent gotten lot of updates and developers work on it ... but the thing that get me and a lot of people the most is the ai not doing their jobs and the micromanagement ...

I think it's a lot of fun, and it's shaping up to be even better. It offers a lot of flexibility regarding what you can aim for, and the cartoonish fantasy settings work well. It's got some hiccups, like the performance, but it seems to be something the devs work on consistently. Speaking of the devs, they're extremely committed to this project, and I have a hard time believing they'd be abandoning it somewhere along the line.
Also it's nice that it offers gender-inclusive options (No worries! Unwashed Gamers™ can turn it off in case they're so afraid of homosexuality)

apparently the only sure way to have a kingdom is to build everything with a nameless group that takes care of a premade group of babies while they build the kingdom then die leaving the children to rule for about 20 years before they die. basically you're unable to sustain a complete line of rulers. the crown must pass to random npc's you let into your kingdom
the game just doesn't work unless you don't care what character is the king

Having poured a ton of hours into Dwarf Fortress, Rimworld, and Going medieval, I can say that I've had the most fun playing Noble Fates as of late. It doesn't have the complexity of Dwarf fortress (nothing does), but I'd say it's the second most complex game out of the group.
For similarity, I'd say it's closest to "going medieval" regarding graphics, but a bit more complex regarding the personality and world simulation. It also has Z-levels which I always miss when playing Rimworld. Compared to rimworld, the only thing lacking really is the availability of mods but I believe that will only change as time goes on.
The devs are active in the steam forums, have a discord and are updating the game on a regular basis as well.
