There is nothing wrong with a game being basic, but then the gameplay that exists has to be stellar. I don't think the gameplay in this game is good enough for a recommendation, although it's not terrible either. In my longest game I was waiting for random troop boost cards, turn after turn, to give me enough +strength to do anything.
