Getting the negative first out of the way. For that lenght of gameplay the 20$ are a bit much.
The stealth aspects are a bit hit-or-miss especially when trying to get the damn eggs.
Now for the positive stuff. Its a fun and scary (and relatively short) experience. It's a perfect game for a one-shot session. It startled me on several occasions and especialy in the last fight it created a feeling of fighting for my life.
Despite this looking like a negative review, I really enjoyed the game and would definitely recommend it.

For $20 USD, it's fine, but a good pick up for a short single-player game if it's on sale. The atmosphere is great; probably it's greatest strength. Some of the voice acting is alright (Greg's voice actor did a great job imo). Quests and upgrades are simple. Bugs here and there but it's fun and the lore bread crumbs along the way are nice.

Game was a blast, followed the dude who made it on TikTok YEARS ago when he started development on it, it's a little shorter than I would have liked, but the Lore is cool the voice acting is a lot better than I would have expected, and it was a cool little horror game. I would love to see this game get bigger, deeper, and have a co-op mode made, maybe in a second game, but as it stands it was a fun unique experience that helped kill 2-4 hours. Buy it on sale to make the most of your money, but I would have paid the full 20$ after playing just to support the dev(s).

I REALLY wanted to enjoy this game. It's a vibe and I love the atmosphere. The idea of the game is really interesting and Charles is cool as hell. I love supporting indie creators so I don't regret my purchase, but I am glad I got it on sale. It started off really strong, but honestly it was the forced stealth sections that killed it for me. You have no real way of combating the enemies. Anytime they see you, they run at near superhuman speeds. You can run away, but anytime I turned around to check if I was safe, they would be right in my face and then I'm getting shot. It really kind of killed the experience. I could have stuck it out, but I was getting frustrated and it kind of ruined the fun for me. I can't recommend even though I loved everything except for the stealth sections. Also felt a similar way about the side mission where you have to find all 8 drawings. Found all but one and kept getting caught and having to start over. The stealth needs work but everything else about this game is fine.

Choo-Choo Charles is a thrilling horror game, with a truly unique train concept.
Every chase is packed with fun, and the open-world missions is best.
A must play indie gem.

The game... isn't that great. I wasn't expecting a AAA experience and it still disappointed.
The music in the game is pretty decent.
The character models are.... broken. There is maybe 4 interesting missions (the eggs and the ghost).
Whenever Charlie shows up and you are in a building you are just stuck there waiting for it to go away which can take a long time. Not scary, Just annoying. Its quicker to just run outside and die and reload. The fact the train wears down and goes slower the more damage it has makes sense from a reality standpoint, but i didn't like it.
I had several times when i was going backwards for whatever reason and when charlie showed up he started attacking the train from the front so I was kind of stuck and had no real chance of getting away or defending. Maybe I could have stopped and tried to go forward and he would have shifted to the back of the train where I could shoot him, but i'll never know. Ever since that happened 3 times in a row i Just stopped going backwards whenever his music started up.
It wasn't all bad though. The lore is pretty good. Going around finding all of the letters/notes was interesting. Looking around for the paint cans/secrets was a little fun too.
For me, I won't be playing again and won't touch any sequels.

This game is fun, the art style is great and the whole atmosphere is great. I recommend because of the mechanics, having your own train is amazing, the greatest thing about it is that you can honk the horn on the train idk what it's called. Now Charles is sometimes annoying he shows up when I'm not even ready and if people say that's the point I disagree. And the cultist are hard to get passed I couldn't get the red egg because I couldn't run back to my train into before the SHOOT THE HECK OUTA ME! Speaking of train, the only way to stop the cultist is to shoot them with your train. Now I know this seems like a negative review but it's not I have alot of respect for the game and the time and effort put into it! Alot of developers just make it for money but this game is different, it's amazing what solo devs can do! 8/10 DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!!
