It's so damn bad it's funny. I bought it very cheap. Don't buy the game, there's nothing to it. I literally finished everything in 30 minutes. There is no mechanical fun, no story, only thing I didn't do is listen to the game, I actually didn't hear no music to it so I can't comment on that. Yeah, don't play this shit lmao

Well, it's a $3 game that's 20% off for launch, so I can't really complain, but I can't recommend the game. See the trailer? That's the game. Like, the entire game. There's only one enemy type, there's only one arena (the 5 stages are just that arena with that one enemy type in larger waves as stages progress), and Phi doesn't have any sort of complex combos or growth to mix things up. The worst part is how the game controls though. It's incredibly floaty and unresponsive. Phi has acceleration to move, so she starts at a slow walk from neutral for a moment before going into a full run (you can dodge into movement to skip the acceleration time). I cannot put into words just how bad this acceleration feels. There's a jump button, but Phi only jumps directly upwards with no forward momentum, and there's no enemies that are aerial, or that jump, or are tall at all, or that have sweeping or projectile attacks to jump over, so it's actually useless. The basic attack string is only three attacks, which includes that long spinning attack you see in the trailer. You cannot dodge cancel out of attack animations. Control just feels bad, bluntly. Also, it's worth noting that there's no control rebinding of any kind. The controls setup is relatively standard, so it's fine, unless you don't have a controller or a QWERTY keyboard, in which case you're totally out of luck. Otherwise, combat just doesn't have much to it, since there's only the one enemy type (with one attack, by the way). You can hold shift to do a knock-up/jump to do an aerial combo, which can be used to keep enemies off you while you focus the knocked-up target, but it's completely unnecessary. There's a counterattack that has relatively strict timing with pretty much zero payoff. You're better off just spamming basic attacks. There's a heavy-hitting wide-area special attack which you don't need at all since there's never enough pressure to call for it unless you just sit around letting the enemies spawn on purpose. There's a super mode that you can activate when below 50% HP, that changes up your attack sting a bit, but you'll never need it if you pay attention at all. Also, I beat the game in 0.3 hours with all of the achievements (I have 0.4 now after going back in to double check the jump and the options), which included replaying a stage and letting myself get hit so I could be low enough HP to activate the super mode. Yes, I skipped the story, which could be great, could be terrible, I literally have no idea, but it's not what I came for here. Look. It's only $3, so whatever. If you're curious about it, go for it I guess, but I seriously can't recommend it. From a gameplay perspective, there's really no reason to play this game at all over any alternative you can think of. Also, it's worth noting that the game tries phoning a server when you first start it up. Not sure what for, but I don't think it's a particularly good look. Unity games do the same thing (which I don't like either), but you can tell they're at least contacting Unity addresses, whereas this isn't a Unity game and I don't know what the IP address it was sending to is.
