I'm not even sure where to begin. This game is excellent. Its cracked out megaman x/zero style action with unique stage design and boss fights. Touhou Project elements are hard to miss but even harder to describe in some ways as they're stylishly imposed and seemingly fused with other tropes of bosses or formidable foes from other games or series unrelated, and then you have versions of characters as bosses that are almost fused into part of sort of the meme or fan culture around them. There is a wide variety of hazards and stage design you'll find yourself navigating through as you blast, slash, and kick your way through everything. Its an amazing platformer. It has that very original doujin style game design to it, as in, its just purely creative. What I love about this game is just simply how... engaging it is? Even from the very title menu, theres a tone set for the player that you're really 'in' for something. A stage select that really says these are tough missions, and make you feel truly accomplished when you get better at the game and learn to just play it, and not be overwhelmed by whats happening in some fights. I truly wish this game had a sequel and it came as sort of a surprise to me when I found out this was developed by the same team that made Skydrift, because it feels like more of a passion project of maybe a few key people. I know its older and actually came out before sky drift so it makes alot of sense for things like graphical fidelity and certain levels of what I'll vaguely call polish, but it stands as a fantastic game. Its challenging and keeps you on your wits no matter what. I hope illuCalab dips their hands more into the action genre. This game is a real treat for people that grew up playing faster games, and enjoy a challenge with explosive action. This game does not hold your hand. Also main protagonist goes hard as a.. Yukkuri of I think Yukari but turned into her own character with legs and a "torso" with the cloak. I don't even know what to say, the game is a 'classic' to me. Give it a shot. Here's to more Takkoman.
