This was a really good MV, from a strictly gameplay perspective. The start isn't the greatest as it's entirely linear more or less, but does open up and it's really fun. The combat system is loads of fun to engage with. I'm not usually a big combo guy, but this one makes it fun. And the power progression is amazing, up there with (although not quite) Last Faith on the pure power fantasy sense. And the exploration was really good. What struck me the most with it isn't just how you found stuff everywhere (which amazing), but that all of the stuff was something usable. I've played quite a few MVs the last 1-2 years where the exploration is *technically* good, but a lot of the stuff you find is junk - money that is not remotely needed (Rebel Transmute, Biomorph), charms/augments/whatevers most of which don't fit my playstyle - or in Biomorph's case I found one super-OP one at the start and only switched to another I found at the start-ish rarely. Just having everything you found be useful to you in some sense was so great. And a game actually providing in-game tools for the mcguffin hunt for the true ending - just amazing. As for the narrative, that's a thing. It's not just bad, but "turn your brain off bad". The bones of a good story is there and it does have its moments, but the execution is just incredibly lacking - and that's before we start talking about the cringe-inducing voice acting. If you're not gonna do voice acting well don't do it at all.

Still not finish but I think have enought for give my review. First the game have too many design problems ... yup is fun sometimes but a lot of times you go from fun too.. wth is this design nobody test this game at all. So if you patience for all that will say here, you can enjoy it, but if this stress you.. just evade as the plague. 1. somehow the special skill S+D fails to register, so you get hit.. char go up and do skill.. game.. developer if it hit me then cancel the S+D if do skill then not hit me is simple. 2, talking about special skills, not only you can do it with s+D but end of combos that is great, that after you finish combo you can't evade at all... really developer, just cause I was finishing a combo and boss decides start his skills I have to get hit.. the solution of not do combo, even if possible is punishing you for try to get the best of system and bad design, just a little of invensibility after finish that is good, cause guess what try the evade at end of combo for hope... 3. Talking about invensibility,, freeze is so broken for the boss that is unfair.. get hit once ok slow... that boss can still hit you for deplete your hp is unfair. 4. a lot of videos for get to fight boss again,,, really a redo boss should be considered thinking in the BS that you want do all over and over. 5. and my reason to change to no.. the last boss is BS really this was something I expected but not in this level, really a shield that have a bad pixel, that heal, that I do in hard very little damage.. ya I have a lot to learn for be more stronger and kill boss on Very hard but that is bad design so yup I can't recommend, I mean Tevi, Rabi-ribbi, Ender lilies, Ender magnolia all finished in hard-very hard, but here just can't too grindy bad desing to even worth thinking in all games you can play on Steam. Finished in normal update: 6, the whole cat system is wrong.... basicly the 12 reward get whjat is left is more grindy that needed, talking about grind, you not kill unless is necessary, and that makes you not get all the power expect you get, still not that bad. 7. you need a control, yes you need it forget recommend it. Basicly the plataform seccions are great, but couldnt do it, check youtube and saw the dash in a different direction only possible with a control used playstation 4 control, now the problem is not the control, is that after finish a combo there is no frames of invensibility for evade, basicly the boss that hate block all my combos by their own design. So well after think a little more, for be a new game of a new team, could be good,, pasable the price I bought in colombia with their discount seems fair for that, still well what i wrote before that will keep down. Ok this is all I can find but enough for feel that your fail is cheap, the combat is enough good for be interesting and im playing in the difficulty intense (until last 2nd boss of ending boss A and rest) the more harder you can select in first try, maybe next is you die by 1 hit BS that not get me wrong seems possible but with the current cheap fails that force you to not play but try to guess what you have to do is pure bad design. maybe in normal or easy difficulty could be more fun, but somebossess I feel well good, even 1 kill it in 2nd try but that is the problem, I feel that is more cause was lucky with the no BS that cause were easy.

Why would you have a cartoon-ish looking Christmas tree that plays seasonal music in the middle of a rain forest? And arrows made of currency that points to the next screen? And lemon grass bed as a save point? What is the explanation behind all these out of place phenomenons? Can't it be something that are better explained by the story setting and fits into the universe? Combat is fluid and the mechanics are solid but these kind of pet peeves just take the immersion away from the game. This is a promising Indie game and I hope nothing but the best for this studio moving forward but this game is just not for me.

Ooof, this game is hard to rate! It does some things good, but a lot of things bad. Pros: + Combat is smooth (if it works properly, more on that later) + Most skills and weapon upgrades have to do with the combat flow, instead of just giving you flat damage numbers like in other games + The MV upgrades are really good and their acquisition has a good pace to them + The world looks beautiful + NO CONTACT DAMAGE! Cons: - The combat has some specific quirks that I honestly couldn't get behind: -- The combo system, where you have to switch weapons to do the special attacks, is IMO really really bad -- Waaaaaay too many things are done with the "special attack" button -- The system of using special skills from different weapons based on your directional input is horrible and 9 times out of 10, for me, it just didn't work and I ended up using the spinny attack while midair when I wanted to use the scythe special attack -- Switching weapons (outside of triggering finishers) is somewhat unresponsive, and under certain circumstances that I have yet to understand, it just doesn't work to switch your weapons - The camera is slow, sluggish, and IMO waaaaay too zoomed in most of the time, and they CAN zoom it out a bit, since in a few areas the camera feels properly zoomed out. - The bosses are really underwhelming IMO, and you fight some of them multiple times. I can count the number of good bosses on one hand, but those bosses are really good! Both final bosses are IMO 4* bosses. - The map is horrible: -- It's all unicolor and you can barely see the separation between zones -- You can only put 5 (or was it 6?) kinds of markers, and neither of them makes any sense when it comes to things you ACTUALLY WANT to mark, like the yellow barriers, or the thorns, or portals, or chests, etc. (I've seen this trend a lot in games and I have no idea why they make markers that make no fking sense...) ++ Still a better map than Ender Lilies xD - While the world is beautiful, it's too same-ey. There's very little variation in the biomes, biggest ones are the jungle/ruins, the Orson research place, and the starship, with minor deviation being the fire mountain, the ancient temple, and the tree. All in all, it's a game I would recommend. I'd give it a 65/100 (in a system where everything over 50 I recommend).

1hr first impression says fans of Metroidvania games will enjoy this. Sadly, the genre doesnt appeal too much to me, but not enough to downvote the game. Play if its to your liking

Made me listen to Christmas music in the summer. Final boss's projectile killed me on its way back after I beat her. 10/10. Seriously, though, the game's mechanics are on point. Combat feels like a souls-like, giving you access to an invulnerable dodge, running by holding down the button after said dodge and parries. But it amps the action RPG elements up to a level similar to fighting games in that you can convert your basic combos into special moves (performed similarly to command normals in fighting games) and a finisher move. You can even throw a super move into your combo if you wanna spend your meter. Combat in this game just feels amazing. Exploration's great, and the reward systems for the various collectables are fantastic. You can find random cats in the enviornments, usually found after completing some tricky platforming challenges, and finding them all (which I did after I beat the game) unlocks an option to reveal all the secrets left on the map, so you don't have to blindly retread old ground until you find something you missed. Speaking of the platforming, it's really great, too. Among the best I've seen in a 2D metroidvania game. All the different kind of mobility options you get through finding new powers or unlocking them in the skill trees really help elevate the game's platforming to a level that I'd say rivals the likes some of the best 3D platformers like Super Mario Odyssey or A Hat in Time. Story's good enough for an indie game. I played it for the gameplay, so I'll admit I didn't read everything, but some of the story cutscenes did have me invested. I might have to replay it sometime and actually pay a bit more attention, but I do feel like I got the jist of things. Serious score time: 7/10. I'm only really docking it for the repetitive music and storytelling. Honestly, if they'd gone all-in on the souls-like aspect and made it more ambiguous/sparse, I feel like it would've been a service to the game. Writing compelling dialogue is hard, especially for a video game with sparse voice acting. Going the "Read the flavor text on the items for hints about the story" route probably would've helped more, given the budget they clearly had to work with. But you can still tell it was a labor of love, and that the developers really gave it their all, and I have great respect for them. You guys really made something special here.

It's a pretty fun game honestly. The combat is pretty fun, the game doesn't need a computer from NASA to run, the story is pretty interesting.
