Legends say the CIA lost the Puzzle Fighters II manual and are still trying to figure how the countdown gems work
Darkstalkers : The Night Warriors stands out as a beginner-friendly fighter, imo better at this than 3rd strike or Garou:MoTW.
- No real combos, only a few basic gatling / special cancels. Taking a hit feels less punishing when you don't have to watch a 10-hits combo afterwards.
- Meter is still useful, but very simplified, encouraging to cast supers as soon as you can, so newcomers don't have to worry about shaping their gameplan depending on resources.
- The game is fast. Along with short combos, characters have teleports, dashes, and all kinds of stuff to skip neutral that are stimulating to fight against in singleplayer.
- Bots are good. Still far from real players, but their good attack variation and defense make it so if you underestimate one part of their kit, they'll eventually use it and you'll have trouble coming back.

Got it on sale and gave Darkstalkers a chance and though the I'd say a good 1/3 of the characters I'm not fond of. The gameplay and art/animation in the game is outstanding. I would easily buy a new Darkstalker if it was ever released. I have become a fan and am working on completing the entirety of Lord of Vampire at all difficulty levels. Great Job Capcom.

Better port than SF II 30th Anniversary collection. Excellent 90's Arcade gameplay and hours of entertainment. Instant classic.

A great collection of Capcom classics. I've bought it mainly because Super Gem Fighter, Vampire Savior and Super Street Fighter X. Cyberbots was a nice surprise. Red Earth is just a coin eater Super Puzzle Figher is impossible to finish...
The only mistake Capcom did on it was not port the console version of DarkStalkers 3, with all the characters, instead those half-baked ones. I still prefer the playstation's or the Chaos Tower Version.
