COTTON REBOOT! Reviews

I really want to recommend this one so I am going to give it a thumbs. First off Cotton is probably the best cute em up series and overall one of my favourite shoot em ups. The first game is amazing and this remaster even has the original pc port packed in that runs great. The remastered soundtrack is amazing and does the original tracks justice. Now for the bad. Despite this being out for three years at the time of this review, some things are either lacking or outright broken. There is no way to change the resolution so if you have a decently large monitor it is going to look blurry. The original game looks fine and doesn't suffer too much but the remaster version suffers heavily. Another issue is you cannot play this on a steam deck, it will just crash, check out Supacotn's guide on how to get it running on the deck. While I do recommend Cotton and Cotton Reboot! If you can buy this game for the switch I highly recommend going that route. It looks much better in handheld mode and runs great on there without any issues.

Extremely fun shmup with an EXTREMELY cute protagonist, the arrange mode is a blast with tons of scoring potential and the X6800 mode is very faithful to the original. There's also other characters you can choose from once you beat the game as Cotton. The only negative thing I'll say about the game is that the visual clarity can be nuts a lot, other than that it's a fantastic revival of Cotton's series.
