This game is a pretty ok horror game. For $1, I didnt expect much. The only complaint I have is that the ending is a bit abrupt. Overall, I give it a 6.5/10.

LITERAL 10/10. EXTREMELY AMAZING. I WAS PETRIFIED THE ENTIRE TIME, AND THE TWIST AT THE END WILL LEAVE YOU WITH NIGHTMARES FOR YEARS TO COME. WOULD HAVE PAID $400.00 FOR THIS GAME.

I broke your games boundaries simply by walking up the hill behind the bar. Perhaps put a fence there or rock to prevent people from doing so. Other than that I like this. It does scratch the detective itch.

The first playthrough, I encountered no problems. I started over to see if I could change the outcome. That's when I encountered the bugs. First when speaking to the bartender-locks up. Started 3rd time, "F" quit working at the bloodstain across the bridge. Everything requiring "F" key interaction from that point had quit functioning. The game cannot be completed. This is unfortunate, since it is an interesting game otherwise.

Worth 99 cents if you can handle walking at a snail's pace and some janky mechanics. The jump scares that I've encountered so far have been hit or miss because sometimes they'll happen behind a wall or not in the way that I'm facing. I'm currently stuck because either one of the mechanics is broken (I need to push a box out of the way but when I interact with it as prompted, nothing happens.) or perhaps I need to unlock something before I can make this piece of progress - I'm not sure because the map is incredibly vague and there's no compass of any kind. The fact that you walk SO slow made me give up, hopefully just for now. The story seems good so far but the mechanics make it a bit unplayable. I do want to pick it up again but it's almost a chore to navigate around this game. I'll still recommend it though cause for all I know these issues could only be on my end and it's 99 cents.

This was pretty good. It had a few jump scares but became a little goofy towards the end. Overall not bad for only $1. There were a few bugs where I couldn't interact with the slugs or the blood trails but nothing game breaking. I would for sure recommend it especially for the price. Welcome to Lakewook is a short horror-mystery game where you're a private investigator that sets out to solve the disappearance of a census taker who disappeared in the aforementioned town. The game was developed by two students at the University of Santa Cruz, who even went as far to do the character modelling themselves. Although cartoony, the overall vibe that this title gives off is similar to Firewatch. Unfortunately, that's all I can really tell you about this game since it's riddled with bugs that prevent you from being able to finish it.
The game-halting bug that I encountered on two separate playthroughs was being locked out of using the action (F) key, and with absolutely no way to fix it. While the game has a checkpoint system, there is no true save system, so as soon as you exit to your desktop you start back at the beginning. I tried twice to get through the campaign, but was stopped at two different times due to this bug. Even though it's only a buck, the developers still shouldn't be trying to sell something that's broken and unplayable. I'm surprised none of the other reviews mention this issue as it clearly isn't a one-off scenario.
