Warning: Asset Flip!
Bullet Wave is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers. This time we have a low poly "voxel art" first person shooter in an asset flipped low poly space station environment. It's a very badly done, sloppy asset flip with a ridiculously high TTK as you spend about half an hour blasting every badly flipped space zombie. So from a gameplay perspective, there's nothing of value for gamers here. Boom Games/Boom Team has shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"Space Fighter" = Space Combat Kit developed by VSXGames
"Street Striker" = Beat 'Em Up - Game Template 3D developed by Osarion
"Megacraft Hentai Survival" = UnitZ Battlegrounds developed by Hardworker Studio
"Megacraft Hentai Survival" = UnitZ Battlegrounds developed by Hardworker Studio
"Megacraft Hentai Apocalipsis" = UnitZ UNET developed by Hardworker Studio
"Soup!" = Hidden Object Game Template developed by Puppeteer
"Megacraft Hentai And Zombies" = UnitZ UNET developed by Hardworker Studio
"Megacraft Hotspot Royale" = Z Fighter - Battle Royale Source Code developed by Skinox
"Hentai in the Forest" = Survival Engine developed by Indie Marc
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game features lazy low-polygon voxel "Minecraft"-like "art", making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. A lot of amateur developers see Minecraft's success and assume it's because it looks bad, not because it had unique and appealing game mechanics, and they try to emulate the success without understanding it. It also happens to be easy, and doesn't need any proper talent in terms of game development/graphic artists etc. That's why reviewers are faced with so many of these terrible games with confrontingly bad graphics. Developers must learn that Minecraft succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. That's right, only 2. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is to be expected. Gamers just didn't take this low quality game seriously, and for good reason. Bullet Wave is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. Note: Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not count towards your Game Collector counts, achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.

Beware: Extremely short ! Just a few *short* levels, 1 boss in an open area: the end. 20 something minutes of gameplay. Don't think I walked more that 500 yards in all. But I liked the illumination =)

Pretty good for what it is. Short, fun to play. Could use a few fixes here and there but other than that it's not bad. The boss is a little too tanky in my opinon but other than that it's good.

Yeah sure its buggy and all but whatever idc i mean it costs 79 cents and you have it finished in round about 30 minutes. I had sum fun with it and thats all that matters. Anyone who reads it should get it, i mean you support sum small dev and even if you dont like it you can still return it.

it is too short of a game,it is a bit buggy but the main problem is you can beat the game under 5 minutes. just rush until last level and then go right, you get a shotgun with 666 ammo and literally you can saw thru the final boss with it. +it is an asset flip and not even a good kind.

I paid $0.50 for this and still refunded it, it’s too low-effort to even recommend. The voxel art style is interesting-looking and what made want to play, but it’s not enough to save this game. When you start it up, you notice that there is no option menu at all, but worse, no save system either. Every game, no matter how short should save the player’s progress. On top of that, I noticed bugs like respawning the player character with no ammo. Some levels drop you right in front of enemies and you have no melee attack. Just avoid this is my recommendation, take your $1 and put it towards Doom or Quake remasters from NightDive on sale, or anything else.

Even though it's short and quite buggy, Bullet Wave is a fun way to kill half an hour. I've played it for about twice that, 58 minutes to be exact, and I don't really plan to go back to it anytime soon, but considering it's only a dollar, why wouldn't you try it?

The game is quite funny, it's a shooting game with cute squared characters. The huge problem in the gameplay is that ammo doesn't reset when the player dies. For example, I start level 2 with ten bullets. At the first try I waste the ammo and zombies kill me. Ok, I retry then. When I restart level 2, I have zero bullets because I shooted all in the previous run....wtf? It's not playable in this way :(

It's a pretty bad old school fps which had potential. The first few levels are actually ok and playable but then after like 20 minutes you come to an impossible to beat boss level. Let's talk about that later and first the general bad stuff -if you "pause" the game, it still continues -no saving at all, except autosaves at the start of a level, BUT your ammo doesn't reset -it's kinda hard to spot ammo/health to collect, also it is a bit too scare -can't switch weapons through the numbers on the keyboard, so you have to scroll through them every time -at one point in a level enemies start spawning infinitly for no reason, this also happens in the boss fight So why is the boss level impossible to beat: -first of all this level is in contrast to all others way too open but also foggy -infinite enemy and homing missile spawns, which you either have to avoid which is annoying at least or you have to shoot them which uses too much ammo, as there is simply not enough ammo in this level to beat the boss. As I was stacked with a lot of ammo before the boss and I spammed pretty much everything I had into him, he still didn't die. He was damaged, because he lost multiple limbs but it was just not enough -and after I died bc I had 0 of every ammo, I wanted to retry and then I saw that my ammo did not reset when loading the autosave at the start of a level, so I was still at 0 ammo, so this was pretty much game over, WTF dev Just stay away from this.
