Gameplay is uninteresting and slow, graphics are crude and you can't map mouse controls. Stay away and play Wolf3D instead: this is a true classic unlike Operation body crap.

Wonderful game. Killing terrorists is always fun. Soyboys and Karens; LEAVE THE HALL! (Go play your underage Japanese girl games, FFS) Loved Bodycount back then, love it now; especially when it runs so well on Win10. Playing outta the box with no assembly required. Only "bad" thing I gotta say is the music is meh but, put on some good ol' 1980s German heavy-metal (Accept, Brainfever; for example) or Iron Maiden and onward to victory. THIS IS BAD GUY, YOU GOOD GUY, THIS IS GUN TO KILL BAD GUY WITH. As it always should be. Simple, fun and efficient; like an AK rifle.

Terrorists have invaded the U.N. Tower! Are you bad enough dudes to save the Ambassadors? 'Operation: Body Count' offers the most advanced iteration of the Wolf3D engine (further customized from 'Corridor 7'), with AI teammates, destructible/burnable terrain, a deeper color pallet for its 'photoreal' texturing, and much more. The DOSBox port itself is really clean, delivering an appropriate field of view and responsive settings, but it's still saddled with antiquated mouseglide controls. The game offers both original & CD audio options, providing an alternate soundtrack that would have colored the experiences of original players or shareware soldiers -- but sometimes cinematics are completely muted. Unfortunately, the offered digital manual is extremely anemic, and doesn't explain a lot of things that the user should definitely know about. The level design is also a bit grinding, pushing you through several rat-infested tunnels before you ever infiltrate the building where the game's plot begins. All I wanted was to smoke out some dirty terrorists, but I was forced to endure countless encounters with Devil Rats and Swamp Men (no, really), instead. I'm really happy that this game is finally on Steam, and hope to see more obscure FPS in the future! (Especially the cyberpunk taxi epic: "Quarantine") Eventually, this game will receive a port and offer appropriate WASD, and other options for custom/modernization with ECwolf3D's v2 release (currently v1.3.3) -- and I can't wait!

You know what you get here: it’s a Wolfenstein 3D clone where you run around indistinguishable hallways through repeating mazes, opening doors, and killing stuff. It’s horribly drab and boring. Once ranged enemies make their appearance, it gets unfair and even harder to maneuver around. Also, the game has this annoying habit of sending you through tiles and doorways covered up with overgrowth, blocking your view, making everything just a little bit more annoying. That, and peppering decals of blood and goop all over your visor. I was about to conclude that the whole package feels a little too archaic for my blood. But then I found out that Doom was released one year prior to this. So… I guess Body Count is just plain bad?

Floors are almost all identical and really brutal in the health department. Tip: turn your mouse sensitivity to high so you can turn fast enough to kill enemies. I will say the music is cool and some of the enemy designs are pretty fun, but you don't see them often.

Operates like Wolf3D, DOS Box. Really cool concept for a game; moving up through a tower that's infested with terrorists, something like Die Hard. I've been playing it since I was a PC kid. PRO: it's a bit more serious; unique mechanics for the era; cool soundtrack; you have a team of basic NPCs to help you eventually, if you can keep them alive. There's also a MAP, which is VITAL because it's a long mazey game, just like Wolf. But lots of cool unique mechanics like fire, wall destruction, etc. Just human enemies here, no monsters.... right? CON: Primitive graphics, clunky controls (customizable tho), and it has a long intro fighting rats in the sewers. The rest of the game is very long, which might be a con for some (not me).

I have been playing this game for a little bit longer, and I eventually finished it. The game is good, but I have some complaints. The game is a little laggy, which makes it a little difficult to look and move around. Also, the enemies will shoot you as soon as they see you. No warnings. The levels are also very repetitive, which makes the game boring. Besides all that, the game is pretty decent.

Haven't played this when it came out, so can't enjoy it now without the nostalgia glasses. I played a bit and I think this game is a bit lazy. Menu, weapons, music, level design, etc - all seems to be a downgrade; even though this game came out 2 years after Wolfenstein 3D. Even the UN building has no UN logos, just US flags ... Capstone's other game "Corridor 7: Alien Invasion" is way better. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3238142798

This game: -Have real weapons -Have a contemporary topic: Terrorist Attack -You could shoot bullet holes in the wall -You had Coop teammates -You could give orders to teammates -Has Booby traps! -Glass physics which you could shatter or just make holes in it -Has destructible Walls -You can set objects on fire -Blood / Gunk splat on the screen -Have a friggin FLAMETHROWER!
And no! It's not CoD! It's a game from 1994!
Some features you would only see it in other games almost half decade later! And you thought Doom was the Pinnacle of Entertainment Software...
