Not enjoyable - too basic - applied for a refund

Although the graphics looked great in the previews, this game is not great quality.

Way too many issues. First of all there isn't a save feature. Developer acknowledges this and states that if you are in the middle of a level and quit you are returned to the beginning of that level upon clicking continue. This is not always true. Case in point, I was in level four and knew I would have to start from the beginning. Nope! I was back where I left off but all my inventory items were gone. Also I could not quit the game using the {esc) key or any other key. I had to initiate my laptops task manager to close the game. Thankfully I received a refund.

A very basic, somewhat amusing, point-and-click adventure taking its motif entirely from 1993's superb "Myst." This is much shorter, much less engaging, and much simpler. At US$7 it's way too expensive. We got 100 minutes, which was shortened a bit from what it might have been because we used a walkthrough. However, we used it mostly for a couple of pixel-hunts, which is not really what you want to be relying on a walkthrough for, if you ever use them at all. So, even if we hadn't used a walkthrough, the industry-standard four-hour minimum just isn't there to be had. This appears to be the work of a lone developer, and it shows. He reuses images of doors and tunnel junctions that are pretty much identical to each other, but are supposed to represent completely different places. That's pretty confusing. Some of his clues rely on matching colored objects to colored buttons, where the colors don't really match. So, in many ways, it's a bit frustrating to play. There's a backstory, but it doesn't factor much into gameplay. This means the puzzles are pretty much just abstract logic/symbol/code problems that don't reinforce any sort of narrative, much less let you make use of one in solving them. It all leads to a rather abrupt, semi-ending that doesn't feel like any sort of real resolution. However, all that being said, it was good enough for us to recommend it to people who like Mystian puzzle games. But don't pay more than a couple of bucks for it. The overall experience is amusing, but it's too short and the ending is nothing much, really.

Relatively easy bit still fun for a small puzzle game. Two negatives - cannot save progress upon exit (Alt-F4) other than at the finish of a chapter. For those of us with limited color acuity the color coded puzzles were a bother so I had to resort to a YouTube walkthrough to complete them. It would be easy enough to ID each item with a unique graphic as well as a color to rectify this issue.

I feel a little guilty giving this a thumbs-down because it's very clearly a labor of love from a single developer, but I just can't bring myself to recommend this game to anyone, really. The limitations are just too overbearing to ignore. The "story" isn't there; the only plot we get is that our character is summoned to a military base where everyone has disappeared....and that's all we learn for the ENTIRE GAME. There are no notes laying around about the work people were doing on the island, nor are there any clues about where everyone went. The game tries to end on a "to be continued...." cliffhanger but that doesn't work when no new information has been revealed since we started the game. If someone were to pick up and play Part 2 of this game, they wouldn't even need a recap, because we didn't learn anything. Puzzles are pretty good; the person playing this clearly knows how adventure games work and you can expect the usual routine of unlocking safes, finding keys, remembering codes, etc. You'd think a military base would lend itself to rational and logical solutions to locked doors, but nope, it's the ol' "puzzle for the sake of having a puzzle" logic. To turn the power on, you have to click the buttons in a certain order. To open a safe, you have to find the combination that somebody scribbled on the wall for....reasons. The game barely limps to about 100 minutes of playtime, and that's if you're going extra slow and taking your time. Asking $7 for this is a bit of a stretch. Again, for what appears to be the work of a single person, this is a noble effort, but it's not enough to get a thumbs-up.

Nice and fun puzzles. A bit hard to understand where you can go, maybe an arrow showing when you mouse over an area where therse is a movement possible?

I love point and click puzzle games, and have had hours of fun out of some in my collection which were in a similar price range. This one is not bad but it's really very basic, short, has a sudden lame ending, and in my opinion over priced for what it is. I would recommend waiting until it's on sale and wouldn't advise paying more than a few pounds.

This was a basic point @ click adventure. The game page says the game has hidden objects but it does not, just inventory to pick up. I am sick of hidden objects so that is a good thing for me. I knew going in that it was a two part game so was not too upset about the abrupt ending. The game played smoothly with no glitches. It was a enjoyable game and the time passed quickly. My only complaint is the auto save didn't save right where you quit. One time I lost about a half hour play but it did only take me about 10 minutes to replay as I knew what to do already. After that I just left the game on when I left it. I will be buying #2 soon as now I NEED to know what happened there.
