Chill game, not challenging. Some of the later achievements are quite boring.

This game brings me way back to the days of Motherlode. The thing that bothered me about that game however, was that the quakes reset your progress, you were timed on your fuel, and if you went to fast and hit something you could take damage and die. It made it a more active game, but also more annoying, especially if you are just looking for something slower and more chill. I love playing games like this with some music, or a video playing, or a podcast on, and just digging away. Play through the game, dig up ore, sell it, get a better mech, upgrade it, and continue on to see how the story goes. I wouldn't say it is a very strong or good story, but it is alright. The writing is pretty good, with some decent comedy; it made me chuckle a few times. But the main meat of it is just digging and exploring while not being rushed by fuel. You can just drop yourself down to the bottom of the map to keep digging and not have to worry about damage, it is really nice. On top of that the game is extremely cheap, about $4.00 CAD (less on sale), and you are supporting what seems to be a single person developer who seems pretty on top of fixing problems and bugs and improving the game. Very happy to give my money to someone who actually has put out a fun and complete game, rather than more 'Early Access' slop that will never be finished, or something like a Paradox game that asks you for your life savings to get a complete experience. I got ten hours of game-play for every dollar I spent, so I would wholeheartedly recommend this game, especially if you have a friend to play with.

This game just eats my time. Very cheap and very fun. Going further into the game, progress gets slower so you need a bit of patience.

Nice little game, and pretty cheap too. While it has it's rough edges, it's sequel Super Mining Mechs deals with most of those. (No ability to mine sideways without a foothold, losing all upgrades when moving up to a new mech, etc)

While all games are basically wastes of time, this one feels like more of a time waster than most. This this isn't a scathing criticism, but this game feels like Cookie Clicker levels of a time waster. There is no real differentiation between the mechs. You can pick almost any of them and upgrade them to be close to any other one. It does grab your attention with an addicting loop of wanting to get to the next 100m mark or make one more dive. Building out the passive income finding mines felt to run counter to wanting to go deeper and didn't give really all that much passive income versus simply plowing deeper and finding more valuable gems. After a few hours I felt I had seen enough. 4.5/10.

OK game, 15h to finish all of it. It has a bit of an idle part to it. You will gain more money waiting arounf than mining, go figure. You will like it if you like the mining part, because there isn't really any upgrade or rpg element to it.

I used to play simple mining games back when flash still existed, and really enjoyed them. I thought this game would be similar. The graphics are fine and the dialog is very amusing, but I found the game as a whole to be boring. The excitement of exploring is quickly eroded by the continually slower pace. You spend half of your time traveling back to the surface because your dirt load is full, and then going all the way back down to where you were. By the time you get going again, it's time to go back up! The lower you go, the slower you go due to rocks becoming more difficult to break, so you keep grinding to upgrade your mech, which barely helps as you continue down. It feels like you're never making any progress. The fully upgraded final mech doesn't even feel powerful. It's not satisfying, but it's not bad either. It's a way to waste 10 hours.
