I'm not going to refund this game because I think the developers are onto something here, but I'm also not going to recommend it because the implementation is way more frustrating than it is fun. The timing of parries is super weird. There's a closing circle around enemies to indicate when to dash, but it's not helpful because it seems different to every enemy and sometimes happens way too fast. At the same time enemy variety is really lacking. I think I've fought 3 significantly different types over two hours of playing. Worst of all, while the style is really well done and visually appealing to me (the look of the demo is what sold me), the angle of the camera does not suit this combat. More than half the attacks are unparryable red, and I have no idea where to dodge to get out of the way. There's rarely enough space (or incentive) to dash away from enemies, but trying to dash to the side often leads to taking damage even when it looks like I'm in the clear. Cool idea, old lady ex-samurai no sword. Bad execution, unpredictable timing and wrong camera angle.
