I played this entire game in one sitting. I force quit it, but then immediately rebooted the game because I waited so long for it to go on sale, like a loser.
A lot of the other reviews are right; you will feel a sense of relief from finishing the game for the simple fact that you don't have to play it anymore, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. I didn't experience a lot of the "bugs" people are referring to where you'd be caught through walls, lose items, or have unplayable sections.
I DID however, experience the awful AI that I actually did enjoy somehow. To me, the AI did feel good in the sense that it doesn't just "camp" an OBJ area, they will search the entire level looking for you. It's once they find you that you'll have a rough time. Even after it performs a "check" on the hide-spot you're in, it will still be able to see you a mile away, looking in the opposite direction, resulting in the game slowing to a crawl as you jump into a locker for the fifth time in a minute because ol' Nick Nack just had a hunch and re-materialized next to you.
The Level design, is good. The execution of each area is repetitive, but so much worse than you'd think, that it actually loops back to good. The second time I went into each level I was thinking "oi, this again", but everytime after that, I found myself enticed by remembering where I'd already been, and where my next set of cards could be, or what puzzle it would have for me. I really enjoyed getting back with all of my cards and solving the final puzzle, despite hating doing it the first time.
The overall theme is something I enjoy. I don't see many games like this so every time I find one I try and play it. As bad as the voice acting was, they did know how to set the tone. The Puppets DID have some good one liners...
The game was pretty well executed. I really didn't lose my mind until the final section, but that was my own fault. If you're looking for a sign not to buy this game, ignore it and buy the game. Play it in one sitting, get through it, and uninstall the shit out of it when you're done because this game will claim a piece of your soul as long as it sits unfinished, taking up space on your hard drive. I pity you achievement hunters
Good game, would not play again.
