It's a better, more stable game than the first one. This is commendable. It does a better and more interesting job of weaving together its procedural storytelling, and its interfaces are (mostly) easier to navigate and (mostly) better at providing information (card tooltips are worse now unfortunately.) However, it's in a weird spot with regards to genAI. There's a ton of it in the game, and like. I get it. The economy sucks, game development is the least guaranteed income that has ever existed, big companies thrive on making all your choices crappy ones that raise their stock prices. However the developer has talked in their replies to other reviews about how they paid for the genAI images. I don't like thumbs downing a developer who got taken advantage of. On the other hand, I can't say I enjoyed repeatedly running into genAI while attempting to have fun playing this thing. Honestly, grab the first Erannorth instead. It's not as polished, but I'll gladly take stock assets and minor jank over the same thing plus genAI.
