Excellent game.
The gameplay is very simple but satisfying and atmospheric.
There are not a bunch of tutorials thrown at you right at the start and none are necessary. A few different story paths based on your choices and very enjoyable identifying the plants.
Loved this game from start to finish.
Just to be clear though, it's a game primarily about running a plant shop and using those plants in certain circumstances as events happen around you. If you're looking for a deeper mystery game, this is not that.

I've really enjoyed this game. Its a sort of throwback to the point and click adventures of my childhood but the developers have brought it forward. The art style is beautiful, the story is engaging and kept me curious, and the puzzles were challenging without being too difficult. Overall a beautiful game, can't wait for Strange Antiquities!
Best Features: phenomenal atmosphere (art/coloration/music/sounds), and challenging catalogue to complete.
Draw Backs: I just wasn't ready to be done!

Strange Horticulture is an amazing, cosy puzzle game with unique gameplay, a lovely art style and immersive writing with a sinister plot. It's around 6 hours long. The soundtrack is also very calming. Use your plant encyclopedia to identify the right plants for your customers. Read letters and notes to work out the locations of new plants for your store, done by using your map and other tools. Gameplay consists of solving a series of riddles and I really enjoyed it. It's really fun; it can be challenging in parts but there is a hint system to help you out if you need it. I also liked that throughout the game you make various choices to shape the story. Incredible game, I'm not usually a big fan of most puzzle games but I absolutely loved this ♥

Perfect game for when you're sick (I am sick and it was perfect). Puzzles and gameplay are simple but still engaging, and cataloging all the plants is very satisfying.

It's a beautiful game, and much more so if you're into horror, Celtic culture and occultism. I am not even into that kind of thing and I can still recommend the game. It is quite satisfying to identify a plant and give it to the customer knowing that it will have the desired effect - or the complete opposite, if that is your inclination. The puzzles and mysteries are great fun and give a huge sense of accomplishment when completed.
The one caveat I have to give relating this is that there is much to learn and know, but this is countered by the fact that there is no hurry, and one can spend as much time exploring, identifying plants in the book, or organizing the shelves as one desires, and can progress to the next customer at any point they desire.

You can complete this game in one day if you commit to it. There's a little bit of confusion in the very beginning because there's not too much of a tutorial, or none at all, but it's simple and intuitive enough that you can pretty much guess your way to it. The answers to puzzles are pretty clear cut, there's no ambiguity about what plant is what when you really look at the details. Even then, it still makes you think for a second. The multiple endings are also fun. If you're a completionist, this game scratches all those itches. If you play right, you can gain all endings with maybe one or two playthroughs and then just jump back to some save points. At the end of every playthrough you're able to also complete your big book of plants to identify every single ingredient in the game. It's definitely fun and doesn't drag on at all.
Short and sweet while still giving a good bit of dark lore.

I loved this game far more than I anticipated. Its gloomy-yet-cozy aesthetic created an engaging but casual experience, and the art styles compliment each other perfectly. The game itself isn't very complicated and most of the puzzles aren't overly difficult, but I found plant identification to be the most satisfying part. The potion crafting seems to be a bit of an afterthought and I wish there were more to it than the handful of recipes that are made available throughout game-play. Another merit of this game is how it dispenses the lore of the world, and uncovering the whole story requires replaying the game to unlock every ending--which doesn't take too long at all.
I think that with the price point a lot of what you're paying for is atmospheric, so if you're not interested in that you might want to find a different mystery/crafting game. I really hope that we might get some DLC (maybe potion-centric?) in the future, but I highly doubt it since Bad Viking is already moving on to Strange Antiquites--which I eagerly await.
