Thank you for this great experience! The Masters of Hardcore VR Event was great, I can't wait for more virtual hard dancee events like this! Had the same vibe as the real life event, good job! Maybe add Smooth Locomotion (controller based) for continous movment.
Now I need a shower haha

Pythian offers a much needed escape in these event deprived times. The throwback events are what you would expect from a showcase of a recorded festival. They are more of a VR cinema than convey the feeling being there.
Then there are the (at the time of this review one) special live Events.
Those are specially designed as a VR festival event expierience and are nicely crafted with different maps for each dj set. Each set has something to discover and has nice light design like you would expect in a realworld event.
The possibility to interact with other players round the expirience and helps to enhance the festival feeling.
Overall i would recommend pythian and i look forward to more events of this kind.

There were some bugs during the MOH live event.
You couldn't change ship in the beginning, no matter what number you pressed in and entered, you were still on the same ship.
My friend couldn't see any people at all no matter how many restarts and ship changes.
I hated the stand-in robots, please remove them and leave only real players. There's no point to them, you only searched for real players among them anyway.
All in all not a great launch but I look forward to the further development of the game.

I wish I could write something positive and I really would like to support this app, but to do so I must be honest.
I joined the event short before it started. I saw some people on the plaza walking around and throwing fireballs. When it started and I entered the boat (first stage) I was all alone. It was looking like there were many people, but they were all just bots. (They had no names, were not reacting to anything...)
I restarted the program many times, read about these problems in the Stream discusssion forum, where others reported the same problem - nothing helped. I really wasn't in the mood to try enjoying the event all alone and just wanted to fix that problem. At 20:55 I finally gave up.
Much later I saw in the forums that there was a problem with the hoster that caused these problems and that it would work now and they would restart the event every two hours to repeat it. So at 1:30am I joined again:
There were a few people (around 6 or 7) and we waited untill it started. At 2am I got teleported inside automatically (I don't know why). I saw two guys from the plaza before, they also got teleported inside automatically. I asked one where the others are. He told me "behind you". I couldn't see them. When they threw fireballs I could see these, but not their avatars. So I restarted the program in the hope to make it work. Then there were ALL ~6 players in the plaza again. And then I recognized I also see the person here, who was inside the festival area and that person was dancing. So we learned this person was inside and outside at the same time.
Then we tried to walk back through the door to enter the stage. We got teleported - but back to the other side of the plaza. We tried that many times.
To sum ist up: it didn't work. Of all persons it seemed to have worked only for one person, that got teleported in automatically and stayed inside.
It's very sad and I guess I really should request my money back. Still... I made a few new friends in the end and I really would like to support this project.
One of these new friends was streaming what happened on twitch. So if he didn't disable VoDs you guys would have the option to see everything that happened.
Btw I'm hobby Unity GameDev myself and may be able to help with specific problems. May I ask who is your host and what networking service provider (like Photon, PlayFab, ...) you use, if any?

I do not recommend this in the current state.
I have joined the first master of hardcore event with some friends but were not able to see each other. Currently there are only NPC's walking around like idiots, jumping and looking to walls...... Although it indicates that you are in a lobby with 30/50 people you only see NPC's which makes it really boring and not like what one does expect of this.

As an oldschool gabber, i really wanted this to be good, but it's not what i expected.
What i expected was a 360 experience from festivals, what i got was a movie you watch in vr on a flat screen.
There are some elements for vr inthere, like the lighting effects you can control, and some static 3d elements , but thats all. If they would have used footage of something like a dronecam or a 360 cam placed somewhere, so you would still get to look around and kinda be there it would have been decent.
But the way it is now i can't recommend.
Love the music and the video's, but i could get kind of the same experience on youtube.
Let's see if the event that is gonna go live in a while is a gamechanger.
Edit:
Ok, apparently i was to soon with my review, the flashbacks are the same, but the liveshow....
Oh Man... This was really good.
I didn't expect the4 different scenes, one for each artist.
I found the beach the best, because its so open and wide, just like on a real festival, the ropeslide to the other island was a really nice touch.
The atmosphere was great on each scene, the only thing i missed was the real interaction with people.
Ok, not everyone is willing to spend theyre money on a vr-set, but i have not seen 1 person that was on vr, maybe you could put them together in a lobby, or give people the choice, i don't know.
Also i never heard anyone talking, maybe because of same reason, for all i know they could all have been bots.
But besides of that it was a great experience.
Good job devs,
See ya next time.

Currently there are some control issues with some headsets, but apart from that it looks good and im very interested to see what other things they're planning to do.

- The hub looks nice and big and easy to navigate.
- you can choose from 6 different looks for your avatar
- The trowhback rooms look a bit simple but the lights are really good and match well with the set.
- The Mainstage for tomorrow looks very beautiful and spacious
- I can hear the audio very clear and loud
- Communication is also great
In the end i would give this experience a 7/10 which it definitely deserves by my standards.
I'm really curious for tomorrows event and have good expectations.

Super surprised to find a VR product for a very niche genre of music. So a niche for VR and a niche for hardcore.
Bought it for the Masters of Hardcore event, after having heard about it on Evil Activities' podcast, thinking it was a steal for the price and let me tell you, they have a formula worth pursuing here.
I had technical issues, the Valve Index controllers are barely mapped so only teleport and mute works, lobbies appeared empty and certain areas of the events was an absolute performance hog.
But beside of that, the spot on lasers, the great green screen effects with some very enthusiatic artists, the quality of the localities and the "theme" of them shone through and made a very unique and interesting experience. Not something like being there in person but something else, something new and something I hope might be explored, even after everything opens up again.
We have the foundation here, for something great.
I briefly tried the throwback events and while it is super neat that they are added, they are not much more than a DVD of the concert on a flat screen with some added lasers in the environment you are in. Great for a watch but nothing exceptional. It's pretty neat that you are in a lobby with others watching it, though.
Recommended for hard dance/hard techno/hardcore fans out there, if not just to support something great happening in this genre.

It has to be said 'PYTHIAN' is both kind of genius and kind of crap at the same time. In short, this hard dance experience tries to put you into some of the biggest dance music gigs you have ever seen, with top dance-music artists like N-Vitral & Crypsis. It does this by placing you in an empty room that shows a 2D flat video on one wall and the room is then filled with the lights and lasers that fit almost perfectly from the video. It is clear a lot of effort was been made to perfectly match the 3D light effects to those, you see on the 2D video. My main problems is that no other effort has been made. No effort to make the virtual stage look like the real one, no real effort to put you into a virtual club. The effects there are could have just as easily been done on a Gear VR!
But that is not the biggest kick in the nuts! While you do get 4 dance-music experiences for £13.99 (I paid £9.09 because it was in a sale) you then have to pay a further £9.00 odd to get just one more which looks like the best one! So in total, you will be paying almost £20! While I praise the idea of this experience it is not something I will be recommending anytime soon. Maybe, things will change when all the other experiences are available, but for now I am giving it the thumbs down.
