The Dark World: Edge of Eternity Reviews

It says it has single player but after I bought it and started it up there was only multiplayer. Also, it doesn't bring up any character customization, and when i do enter the the multiplayer server it just leaves me falling through the game endlessly or t-posed with no movement. Not really sure what's going on, but if anyone knows whats going I'd be happy. I bought the game because the reviews were great and it looked amazing. I really love vampires, werewolves, and other mythologies so this game was a must have for me. I hope the game is still playable.

Here's what I got on of this... experience First try, go into the (only) server available, bald guy in underpants falling through an endless grey void. Second try, slightly different bald guy (also in underpants) frozen in place (I think his butt was twitching) in some impossibly dark... landscape of shadows (literally black on black), game became unresposive at this point. Third try, bald guy on the grey void once agan. Refunded.

Picked this game up on theme, alone. We don't have enough supernatural horror games. Just dropped into the world with no direction or means of actually surviving. Half the time you find anything, you can't even actually loot it (particularly if it's in a car -- you can highlight it and receive the interaction prompt, but it won't actually do anything). Found a base and got some food and clothing, but couldn't find even a rock to pick up to try to craft anything. Got wood, sticks, and plant fiber, but those can't make you any tools to accomplish anything. You NEED scrap metal to even get the most basic tool. On top of that, without a tool, you can't even attack. No bareknuckle brawling a tree, in this one. Just a vast expanse of mediocrity and disappointment.

Friend found it while browsing steam and was streaming it on twitch. Thought it looked cool so grabbed it as well. Played it for 10 hours the first day, and can say the bones of the game are solid. This will be one to keep an eye on.

As of right now its a work in progress there are bad mechanics in this version yet there are hopes that something new is on the horizon so i recommend for the sale price. 22/02/25 Played this latest build and it is promising it has some things in place: Character creation and Class system but is broken. No keybindings just basic. Quest system WIP Movement is good attack animations are meh. Developer is slow with updates and does not take use of the community testers as far as i see...

I have around 3 hours in the game so far, and I have really been enjoying the game, one of my favorite aspects of the game so far is the immersion, when I started playing it started raining heavily, as I was looting, and then it started getting dark, I found myself exploring the map and then lightning struck, and then there were werewolves howling in the distance! I felt the intensity of everything going on around me, and and found myself really enjoying the experience, there is so much planned for this game as the Dev has listed on his discord channel, and He is very active with the community and the development of this game, I have made suggestions and left comments on discord, and he has always responded in a timely manner. There are some bugs, as to be expected for all early access games, but this game stands out to me more than any other early access game I have tried so far, and knowing what is on the horizon for this game makes me very excited for it's future, the ability to play against werewolves, vampires, and military AI, or play as a werewolf, or vampire, or a human is one of the most original ideas I have heard of yet in the survival genre. Cannot wait to watch and be a part of the development of this incredibly uniqe survival game!!!

Game looks promising but has a long way to go. Current version is good for a few hours of game play. Not worth buying at the moment, perhaps after a few more updates. Will keep game and see how it develops

This is not even enough to call early access. True, I only played for one hour before requesting refund, but during that hour I found that every building has the same loot table: One can of beans, one t-shirt of various color, one back pack. Garbage cans all contain: a few logs, an electric circuit board, and a can of spray paint of various color. I didn't find a single werewolf or vampire and explored a very large area at night. The player character is a pregen with zero ability to modify appearance or gender.

The game really sounds great but right now the game is very empty with little or nothing to do. I came acrosss no npc's and none of the vehicles could be driven. That being said storms sound and look amazing but i am unsure if this is enough to even pay for the game, sadly. The charachter movement is also smooth enough for early access but it still feelss lacking with no free look. I really want to back this game and see how it changes but at the same time i am scared the developers will not continue making the game and will abandon it. Therefore i must refund and well will keep my eye on the game and repurchase in the future if they actually make the things they claimed they will be making. I really wish they had gone to kickstarter with the idea of this game to spur some kind of funds and get work done as it seems very promising. Now comes the hard part to recommend or not, i honestly want to recommend it but can only do so if you do not mind maybe the game failing and being pulled by Steam which has happened to others games in the past, that being said i don't want to say skip it as it can have promise in the future therefore i must suggest it and hope the developers continue making the game and well that they can get a streamer to to help get more eyes on it, but even then the game iss still lacking in content..
