There's no way to not mention the killer soundtrack, it really fits the game and is awesome to play while listening to it!
The game have 3 modes, Easy, Normal and Hellcraze(Hard?)
I went for Hellcraze as I think it's probably how the game is suppose to be played, it's hard but it's really awesome, every map features new enemies with different behavior as you advance the game making it even harder!
The game is totally worth it, just the soundtrack of it is already worth the price, devs made a real good job here!

Ok, this is my first impression, but I love pixel art stuff, usually. Hammerwatch is a fun game, and this is like hitting some kind of that vibe for me, but it's something.. "else". There is no real classes to pick from, you're a person in battle armor, and probably the most rocked out playlist built into your helmet ever imagined for a video game ever on a mission to blow the hell out of .. well hellions. This game kicks ASS, and is not ashamed of it.
There is a form of leveling system, which is easily accessed on the fly with the ESC key. You can get upgrades to your health pool/armor total and the damage each of your weapons use. The demons you defeat leave little purple soul globs you collect and you spend that to level everything to choose from. Again the music is phenomenal.
The most basic weapon you start with is nice because you have essentially unlimited ammo for it, but you need to reload it frequently. The "better" weapons have limited ammunition, but you can pick some up as it is scattered in the corners of the hallways you must visit and conquer or gather stuff from defeated demons sometimes as they also drop items after soaking up some bullets. Did I mention the music is pretty amazing?
Screen shake happens at "the right" moments, there is a distinct difference when a demon chomps into your armor/shielding or gets a taste of your flesh which is nice to see. This is worthy of the asking price if you like retro styled games and some stout metal to listen too while you blow some steam.
If you're curious how it is on this side, jump that fence and come on over, you'll enjoy.
