truly a game that feels like it was made for me. it has his jank but the combat is amazing, the animations are so cool, the level design is very good with big shortcuts that reminded me of dark souls 1 and just the whole weird vibe to the game is very freshening with a story that kinda snaked on me because i did not expect it to be this good.

I've always been a big fan of ACE Team and their Zeno Clash series. This latest title is their best yet: A deep and extremely satisfying combat system, beautiful visuals (of course), but more than anything a joy to return to the world they've so lovingly crafted after so long. Bravo, lads.

One of the best games I’ve played recently. For me, it’s the best Zeno Clash game, and it hits even harder when you've completed the previous Zeno Clash games. Highly recommended.

Pros - pretty.
About it
Cons - the combat is just clunky and slow
- the big tough bosses are extremely boring, the tactic for them is to dart in, punch three times, wait for extremely slow strikes. Repeat. The only real danger is getting impatient with huge damage sponges and trying to get a few extra hits in to speed up the process
- there's very little explanation of mechanics in game, and very little online breaking things down. If there's real meaningful differences in styles for different situations it's very hard to see.
- the map is awful
- not super clear where you're going for what.
- the story might be fine? but I couldn't be bothered.
- the dice ritual mechanic is also dull.
If the story is compelling I'm generally willing to look past all game mechanic faults, but there just isn't enough story.

Fun combat, beautiful graphics and an interesting world. The story is simple but Pseudo and the boy have an endearing dynamic. Can be a bit janky at times but that's easy to overlook.
Good in Every Way, but Just Short of Great
Overall a fantastic game, especially from a small developer. Great story, great voice-over work, great music, amazing art style, very creative levels within a unique environment -- it hits all the right notes except one: the combat is good, but not quite great. Key points:

Combat is about agility of and transition between maneuvers, but I missed those transitions far too often. Unsure if it's a skill issue or if the tolerances are too tight.

Getting a new stance or special attack is fun, but also immediately a let down because you need to upgrade it to the level of your other abilities. Freely being able to move/reset the upgrades would be very welcome.

You can do areas out of order, making some too difficult and some too easy

Supposedly you can "abort" actions in progress, but I never saw that happen, esp. with dodge

Hit several bugs; e.g. I couldn't move with controller or keyboard and a hard lock with the
teleport
skill

There should be a quick equip/unequip weapon control

When enemies go down, but are still alive, they lose their health bar, so you can't tell if they are or are not actually defeated

All mobs/NPCs that can fight, can aggro and fight each other, which is usually awesome

Health potion crafting is backwards: if you are playing well, you'll have lots of materials and very strong health pots that you don't really need, but if you are struggling, you'll run out of materials and have weak health pots when you need them most.
Easy recommendation to buy, but if it's on sale, grab it -- the experience is well worth taking a chance.

This game was an incredible character action/beat em up! If you like godhand i think you should definitley give it a try. The story connects really well into zenoclash and has alot of charming moments. Map and direction are a bit iffy but you get used to it.

An incredible expansion on the lore of Zeno Clash & Zeno Clash 2.
An incredible story about an encountered relationship between characters, with development arcs and a coherent narrative.
An incredible portrayal of Zenozoik; with engaging map design, collectibles and secrets all over.
An incredible art style, original and a fresh take on the vision of the first two games.
An incredible extension of gameplay, with intricate mechanics and entertaining loop.
I have to say, Team Ace did deliver, and left me wanting for more.
It's a yes for me, not only because I loved the Zeno Clash series from start, but because this game proved that the concept and lore of the world can take any form it wants. It shows it can keep improving, and it can keep getting bigger. And I hope it does.

A really good game for what it wants to be.
It starts out quite slow but only get´s better.
That´s because it introduces the different gameplay aspects one after another,
and once they all come together it becomes really fun.
I have never been disappointed with these devs.
On a side note, this is also the only game I know where you can chose between seperated levels and open world.
And boy does make the open world a difference. I have no idea why, but instanced levels are the standard setting. So make sure to change that to streaming.
