Took me a while but I finally got around to beating this. It's by no means amazing but it is still a fun ride throughout, and the art and music are amazing. Give it a try.

This game F***s so hard! Definite recommend for Souls fans.
I just finished the game and I can say with 100% certainty that the negative reviews are crazy. This game is a tight 12 to 14 hour Souls-like with surprising depth, killer bosses, beautiful art and a ton of replay value. Is it the most complex or difficult Souls-like out there? No. But what this game brings to the table is a fun, challenging experience with a short run time that is perfect for both newbies and veterans to the genre alike. There are some aspects that could definitely have been handled better but for what this game is those issues are just minor imperfections on an otherwise great experience.
Pros
Lots of weapons, spells and armor to use.
Killer boss fights that test your skills
Short run time.
Great pacing.
Fun but simple combat.
Cons
Weapons feel very similar between each type.
One major boss was far too easy for where they are located.
Platforming is very simple.
Map lacks detail and the ability to add markers.
