THIS IS A VERY GOOD GAME BUT....i didn't want to put this as a thumbs down as it is a good game, if you want the better version of the same game (more or less) play "Locked Up" this is just a bit nicer to look at but not as good in my opinion, this is a good game but feels like a rip off of of Locked Up, or the other way round,

Definitely worth a playthrough, but can be extremely frustrating at times due to the very obscure paths for progression. The scares are top notch though and the atmosphere was great :)

After playing Last Stop, I had low expectations for this title. I was pleasantly surprised... but only marginally. First, the atmosphere was strong. The control was responsive, and the puzzles (which are once again cryptic) have hints that help the player progress with a little more confidence. The achievements unlocked with no issues. This entry is stronger than Last Stop, and for that I'm grateful. I'm giving this a "thumbs up" positive rating, but I don't know if I would legitimately recommend this title. With this said, Agoraphobia, in contrast to Last Stop, shows some promise from the developer.

Only got it for the achievements yet somehow it manages to disappoint in that department, 0 testing has been done and interactions are clunky and impossible, the only fix that has been taken in was changing your mouse?! Anyhow, paste game not even worth the 0.79$.

Filled with more annoying "puzzles" that feel clunky and unrewarding than anything particularly scary. Several times I got stuck in a bugged room with a looping audio track and no idea what to do. If you do buy this game, just so you know, your zoom/stare is a key part to solving many of the rooms apparently.
wHOOOOOF... this game isn't very good folks.
Agoraphobia is a game that has nothing to do with the title. It's a pretty bog standard "Psychological Horror" walking simulator, with some of the worst scares I've ever seen in a self proclaimed horror experience. I knew that this game was infamous in the Indie Horror scene, (as is this developer), and I wanted to try it out for myself, just to see if the "mostly negative" reviews were all that. They are all that. It's humorous to me that my good friend and curator, Deadeguard98, someone who's opinions on the horror genre I take at face value, gave this title a positive review. That was enough for me to think the game wouldn't be as bad as people said it was, so I paid my $1.50 admission fee and waltzed on into the game. First thing to note is that this is a solo dev game, that very openly uses free and bought assets from the unreal engine marketplace. There's nothing wrong with that, I have played a handful of competent asset flips before, but unfortunately, this isn't one of them. Most of the game is a one for one recreation of another called Locked Up, a complaint I've seen a handful of people make. The corridors are the same, the scares are similar and the visuals aren't any different either. Both use a cheap/free asset of a "spooky chick in hospital gown" and neither are very good. Another complaint I've seen people make is the constant game breaking bugs that lead to reloading checkpoints.
I HAD TO DO THIS UPWARDS OF 10 TIMES.
Just like for Nocturia, another title I reviewed recently, the developer felt the need to make a guide for his own game, knowing full well the puzzles are far too nonsensical for anyone to figure out on their own. I got the feeling Tainted Games wanted to follow in the footsteps of PT and Amnesia, with the harder to grasp puzzles. the problem here lies within the fact that those puzzles actually made sense and had a logical flow to them. This game fails at that miserably and most of your playtime will be spent backtracking, reloading due to bugs, and reading guides. Agoraphobia isn't the worst game I've ever played, but it's definitely the weakest horror title I've touched since Saligia, (another terrible indie game). This game gets a
2/10
Check out more on my Curator Page

I hate leaving negative reviews...but...uh....I'm going to just be honest. I actually streamed this game, and the frustration was shown on my face 90% of the time. I tried NOT to compare it to Locked Up but it was so hard not to. > Picking up items was an absolute pain. I had to be at the PERFECT angle. I couldn't even pick up the very first paper (which I assume had the controls for the game). > I couldn't go back to look at the controls. Options didn't even list the controls. This was extremely frustrating because some parts required you to zoom into the object to proceed with the game. >loading game was buggy. It loaded a bunch of background sounds that weren't meant to be there. I had to load 2-3 autosaves back. Sometimes THAT didn't even load correctly, and I had to just go back even earlier in the game. >and on the topic of sounds, some sounds were unnecessarily loud, such as a lit candle. >I understand it was a game that required YOU as a player to find out the next objective, but it was REALLY hard. For example, there was a part where you had to pick up an item or click on something. However, there was no hint that you NEEDED to do that. I made progress by randomly clicking on object. A game that could have taken me maybe an hour or so....took me about 6 hours of stream time. I had to quit on the first night of streaming because I was so frustrated with the game. I am not saying it's a terrible game. It's a flawed game. Maybe because I played Locked Up first...I couldn't help but compare how easier it was to understand and play Locked Up than Agoraphobia. Based on my experience, I do not recommend the game. HOWEVER, if it's your type of game, go for it. I love testing out and supporting indie games, which was why I paid and played it despite the reviews. Sorry for any grammar mistakes. English is not my first language.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! I REPEAT- DO. NOT. BUY. THIS. GAME! This game started off great, and had some very creepy atmosphere, and some good jumpscares, however, the puzzles in this game were poop and trying to trigger the events was a nightmare, which consisted of me running around the map for 10 minutes looking for something, or trying to understand a gameplay footage and figure out what I'm missing. The game really didn't redeeming features, no good music/sound design, no good story, and honestly was not even that scary. Felt like a total waste of time and money. anecodtal evidence that this game should not exist: "game made me change my pants not from pooping myself silly but from laughing too much at how incompetent these devs are (FT: TF)

I was looking for something to play and came across Agoraphobia. The photos and videos made the game look really impressive, and the price of .99 cent was what sealed the deal.. I downloaded the game and began to play, and it was a much better experience then I expected for the price.. The game claims it's a psychological horror game and I'd completely agree.. I felt unnerved a few times while playing and quite a bit of the scenery was unsettling.. Since I'm a horror movie fanatic and gore fiend I was enthralled.. With that said while I enjoyed the game, the progression systems randomness and choice in how to progress sometimes feels rather lackluster and more akin to luck then actually skill.. Without a guide I could have found myself quitting the game midway through as having to click on this and zoom in on that, with almost no real hints or hand holding if you will would have frustrated me.. The guide made the experience far better, as I got to enjoy the music and the experience and could avoid the frustrations associated with randomly clicking and zooming on everything until the game progressed.. The Story - "You awake, You expect your family to greet you, but the house is empty. Something's wrong. Where is everyone? And what's happened to them? Unravel the mystery for yourself in Agoraphobia, a exploration game. Interrogate every detail of a seemingly normal house to discover the story of the people who lived there." Taken straight from the store page,, while I can't really say if that's what the game is about, as I was playing the brief bits of lore seemed confused and left me wondering what was going on.. the ending cleared up what was going on I think.. Overall the game was acceptable for the price.. Gameplay - walking simulator with some random puzzle/item search content.. If you've played one walking simulator you've played them all. This game doesn't really reinvent the wheel. Pro's Atmospheric music Decent graphics Fairly decent jump scares Easy achievements Con's A few game breaking bugs (although easily countered by reloading an older save) Confusing objects which come across as random Recommendation For .99 cent, you really can't go wrong, the game worked right out of the box, it had some interesting ideas, and as an achievement hunter those easy achievements left me feeling great.. If only the game wasn't profile features limited it would be amazing.. I got 2 hours of playtime for .99 cent, I'd say that puts it on one of the better cash to gameplay list, if you're strapped for cash maybe avoid this, if you want a fun game to play to kill few hours this might be it.. Either way I'd fully recommend this game if for nothing more then the experience..
