Okay, I'm like an actual big-budget triple-A engine dev. Y'know, the big fancy game engines? I'm used to just being able to implement whatever I need into the engine to be able to build the game we need to build. So, I tend to look at things like GameMaker Studio with a sense of "Eh... There's probably not that many types of games you could make with this." All to say, that when I started playing this game, I just exclaimed "You can DO this stuff in GAME MAKER?!". It's technically quite impressive, from what I understand of the limitations of the engine. Big respect to the developer, it's well beyond what I thought the engine was capable of. From an actual gameplay perspective, it's not amazing, but it's novel, and a well-scoped 4-5 hour experience. Certainly well worth the price for some neat mechanics that I don't think you can get anywhere else. There's a fair amount of physics jank given the nature of the mechanics, but the game seems to be quite resilient to it, and I'm surprised how well it all holds up.
