Technically it's great. A decent boomer shooter with a diverse roster of enemies and a creative arsenal of weapons to blast through the game. Oh and the soundtrack slaps, but that's true for the entire series (even that one). My only issue with Brain Damaged is the humor, but i'm afraid that it's just Postal being on with the times and we happen to live in the age of not funny (i'm also not really a fan of boomer shooters but i still recommend it to anyone who is).

A surprisingly competent shooter. It does such a good job of mimicking modern Doom games (and its not afraid to admit it).

I beat this in January of last year with 6.9 hours played.
I thought to myself: Wow, I can never play this game again.
So I promptly deleted the game and reminisced on that until recently where with the DLC coming up and my wonderful partner playing Postal 2 as of late - imma replay it.
Just honestly writing this to immortalise the 6.9 hours.

A chaotic and humorous parody of pop culture, memes, and real life events fused into a fast-paced Boomer-Shooter. They aren't kidding when they say POSTAL Brain Damaged is DOOM Eternal on acid. This is a respectable and mental spin-off to the classic POSTAL series which is already known for its off-color humor, and this game takes it to another level. Don't let the absurdity of this game fool you as I really think it is a decent shooter experience with entertaining levels and a variety of enemy types. The weapons are direct references to other FPS titles, making this game a parody of many things in the form of a fever dream.
Play this game if you want to piss on your enemies, kill furries, and just an outright drug-fest bonanza of a Boomer-Shooter.

Somehow, this game is one of the best boomer shooters. Hyperstrange knocked it out of the park. Highly recommend.

Finished the game on normal, 88% complete all levels on average, missed quite a few secrets, despite looking, not hard, but enough to have my wanting to play on hard and give it another deeper look. Whole speed-run aspect never been my cup of tea but will give it a shot on my third play through. over all its definitely a recommenced since I'm not bored to tears and willing to play it 3 times. Although if i had to do it again i would have started on hard, normal was too easy. Also disappointing in the lack of bosses. I have all the postal games and this ones decent compared to the rest, just didn't feel as raunchy for some reason, lil toned down. Pistol and electric brain gun my fave by far. Hated that they copied the shot gun hook mechanic and forced me to use it to traverse and fight a boss with. That was annoying, but the fact it was, WHAT it was, as a boss, made up for it. epic reference lol.

Game rules.
Once I learned how to bypass weapon fire rate limits through peeing the game really opened up. I beat it on Hard and it was a good challenge but I didn't die too often. Crack and armor goes a long way and the game is really generous with pickups. It's such a blisteringly fast game; the weapons kill fast and if you look away too long you die which I love. The movement also rules even if I tend to hate sliding. The jumps being Q3-esque is fun and as much as I wish there was circlejumping like Q3 I'm still fine with how the game controls; that's what the slide is for! It's great.
The guns are wacky. They feel great. They look pretty and as genius as making the LG do the UT99 orb shot thing, it sucks that it doesn't do much damage. That's probably my only complaint with the weapons.
The enemies are... varied! Jesus Christ there's a lot and while it gets hectic I didn't ever have trouble picking out who I needed to kill which I appreciate a lot. Artstyle goes a long way and the enemies are all pretty standard attack-wise which is good! Not every enemy needs to be a miniboss. The sniper one is maybe a bit too punishing but maybe I just suck. Whatever.
Level design is also great. It's very much in the style of your classic boomshoot which is great. Love it. Get keys kill enemies sometimes you have arenas but it's not the constant focus which THANK YOU!!!! It's always fun to see games not be Serious Sam or Painkiller for once. The places are distinct and pretty; the jagged artstyle adds a lot of character and really helps it nail the dreamy feeling.
The final boss fight... god that's such a good ending. I'm suuuuuch a sucker for the Dusk boss fight thing where the final boss is just a deathmatch ... "match." Seeing Postal Dude hop around shooting rockets and doing the same thing back kinda makes me horny. And I actually died to the evil tank guy a few times! That machinegun was stupid and wow it shredded me but hey it's a final boss it only makes sense.
I think my only complaint is the humor of the game, which... ugh... it's Postal, so it only makes sense. It honestly does serve as a nice time capsule of 2020 humor down to the final cutscene. Postal 2 is kind of the same way so it's more interesting than anything. The story at least gives good motivation which is all you really need.
All that to say this game rules. Not mindblowing per se but it's definitely a fun romp and it rules and you should play it! I think. If you can tolerate hearing "Okay, boomer" every now and then.
