Irish mythology, mystery, sleuthing, puzzling. Just the right thing to make your way through a rainy day and learn about some or Ireland's rich fantastical and historic background.

Cute Nancy Drew-inspired point and click mystery. Pretty rudimentary but nice local details and intuitive gameplay. Looking forward to more releases with longer playtimes and more intricate puzzles.

MARCELLA MOON – SECRET ON THE HILL Osanna Vaughn, mother of Bjorn the Hammer For a newcomer to video games, Marcella Moon and the Secret on the Hill was the perfect introduction to a fun world of adventure, riddles and puzzles, while offering engaging information about Irish myths and legends. Author Amelia Goldstone has disappeared while researching local myths and legends in Sligo, Ireland; and amateur sleuth, Marcella Moon, is on the case. However, when she inquires about Amelia, no one seems ready to give her any straight answers. It’s almost as if, friendly as they are, they all have something to hide. Rumours of a legendary pirate treasure could hold the key. Had Goldstone discovered too much? Step by step, Marcella discovers clues, locates artifacts and solves riddles that lead her to figuring out the mystery of the Secret on the Hill, but… does she find Amelia alive? You’ll need to play the game to find out.

I was fairly intrigued at first by the Nancy Drew-ishness of the game... But not only did the unnatural movements of the characters serve as quite a distraction, but I cant save the game or even just minimize the window so I can continue on later. Apparently, you have to play the game straight through or you lose all the progress you've made. Very annoying.

Short and sweet experience. Definitely gave me some old school Nancy Drew game vibes, even though the graphics are quite primitive. I got stumped for a bit because I didn't know how to open the inventory (space bar), but the writing was well done and the characters felt distinct and believable. I'm looking forward to seeing Marcella Moon grow with time!

Just finished Marcella Moon: Secret on the Hill for the first time. I enjoyed following the clues, and I think you're definitely on the right track! I liked the brightly-colored animation (because I didn't have to turn up my contrast) :)

This was a short but fun adventure to get swept up in! Even though the story was told through text and still scenes, it still managed to surprise me at certain moments and have action scenes that felt suspenseful! The music also sets the mood for an epic adventure!

It was very fun :) I got stuck a few times and got very quick and helpful responses :) I really liked the story but I think I missed something because I didn't fully understand why the bad guy was the bad guy but overall it was really good :) I liked the puzzles and I think that they went well with the story :D I also think that the setting was really nicely designed and it had a nice small town charm to it :) I also liked the characters and I think they all went with the theme of being in a small town (small town drama ;)). I also think it had a lot of stuff about Irish myths and culture as I, not knowing basically anything about Irish myths or culture, definitely think that it taught me a lot of things about it :) So overall I really liked it and I would play it again :)

I had a lot of fun with this; it pressed all the nostalgia buttons for the old Nancy Drew games. I think this is the developers 1st game and the graphics/animation is not sleek or flashy. That didn't bother me because the story/mystery and game play are solid. There were moments of tension and nice surprises. One thing - I'm not sure if there is a "save" setting - but you can get through this in one session. I'm looking forward to watching this developer grow/sharpen their skills and going on more adventures with Marcella Moon.
