Incredible action. I played for over 400 hours on PS4/5 and bought it on Steam to replay it here.

This is the closest you can have to a Samurai Simulator. It is just as good as the first one but better in every single aspect. Immersive as hell. Or to repeat myself from the review of original game - This is a Demon Slayer set in a right time frame and actually serious about itself. It's dark, gritty and bloody story of a samurai warrior who also slays demons just as brutally as humans. But now you are half-demon yourself. It can't possibly be more ruthless than this. "Strong possess power and weak obey the strong. The strongest becomes Shogun"

if you are good at the souls games or elden ring that experience wont help but if you are good at Nioh you will be the best in those other games

Like a lot of sequels, it's just the same game, but better. More mechanics, more compexity, but the core stays the same. Nioh 2 is really long (sometimes slow-paced in the matter of game progress) and hard to master. But, after this one, I can't bring myself to play any of the OG Souls. The combat here is so varied, fast, and rewarding, it's out of the question.

I am addicted to soulslikes so when I heard about this I had to play it, I didn't have Playstation but then ffwd a few months and I get a rog ally. We'll it just so happened koei tecmo was having a sale and I picked up the complete edition of this game for 9.99 and nioh 1 for 7.99 and I experienced the most fun I've ever had in gaming since elden ring. I cannot recommend this game enough I am over 150 hrs deep and still having a blast thank you team ninja if you don't have this and you want epic challenging gameplay and addictive build crafting you owe yourself this experience and its on sale again now is the time.

Nioh 2 is an incredible game, but it treats the genre very differently. Instead of mysterious world to explore, the game uses a world map menu. You pick a mission, clear the area, beat the boss, and go back to the menu. This breaks the immersion for me but still cool overall. Also, you are showered with tons of randomized weapons and armor. It feels more like inventory management in an mmo rpg rather than discovering unique, lore heavy weapons. It's kinda annoying that you have to clear those weapons on your inventory tho. The Ki pulse system (which is really cool), 3 stances per weapon, and Yokai skills make the combat incredibly deep and fast closer to Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry than a traditional Souls game. It is visually satisfying but mentally draining. (well at least for me) Overall, It might not give you that addictive itch to play 10 hours straight, but it is an absolute masterpiece if you want to clear a stage, beat a boss.

A step up from the original in every conceivable way. It takes the foundation of the first game and expands upon it beautifully. Yokai Shifting is more engaging and thematically richer than Living Weapons, and the addition of Soul Cores adds incredible depth and synergy to the combat. The skill trees are more intuitive, the Dark Realm sections effectively heighten the tension, and the narrative is much more cohesive. The DLCs are also great fun to play, and they contain my favourite boss (Tate Eboshi). The new weapons were also fantastic; the Switchglaive was my choice and was great fun to use. Do you need to play the first before this? Not really. It takes place before the first game, so it doesn't even pick up - narratively speaking - where the original left off. However, toward the end of the base game, there are some story moments that are more impactful if you experienced the first one's plot. Personally, I still recommend playing Nioh 1 first because, whilst not required in any way, it brought out the full potential of this masterpiece. I could gush all day about my love for this game. Seriously a 10/10 experience for me; I'm so hyped to play Nioh 3.

I played this game co-op with friends for 90% of the time. Therefore, I feel like my experience is vastly different from a normal solo playthrough. This game is not a walk in the park, but some Dark Souls/Elden Ring experience can get you a long way. There are a lot of ways to basically do the same task: killing your opponent. Your opponent has the exact same thing though, many ways to kill you, gruesomely. A lot of things are quite overwhelming and complex, and I feel comfortable saying that having 2 other party members really helped me not having to focus on every single aspect of the game. For example: Taking aggro Using buffs for the party Allowing limited revives when at least 1 other party member is still alive Are all really nice perks of having co-op. Overall, really cool game that scratches the Dark Souls itch while still being something vastly different.

I didn't finish the game. Its honestly not my cup of tea But really cool systems and mechanics if you get into it. For me it kind of got repetitive and boring after a while.
